MINI Clubvan Concept: Geneva Preview
MINI has offered a preview of its first commercial vehicle application based on the Clubman, ahead of its official premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
Christened as the MINI Clubvan, the car is still a concept, and the main difference between it and the Clubman, are the absence of the rear passenger seats and rear side windows. That space has been converted into a more generous cargo area with a flat floor surface, accessible via the the side-hinged rear doors.
New BMW M Performance Parts to be Showcased in Geneva
BMW’s stand at this year’s Geneva Motor Show will be packed with stuff to feast your eyes on. The Bavarian automaker will premiere the 6-Series Grand Coupe and the new M6 Coupe, it will showcase the facelifted X6 and X6M models, as well as the M550d, X5 M50d and X6 M50d models part of the new Performance Diesel category.
BMW will introduce a number of new engines for the 1 Series, 3 Series and the X3 and it will also showcase its new range of M Performance Parts.
Peugeot 208 GTi and XY Concepts Revealed
Peugeot will unveil two concepts at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month: the GTI Concept and the XY Concept.
The Peugeot 208 GTi Concept is a hot hatch which that attracts attention due to its styling and equipment upgrades that include the LED headlamps, rear roof spoiler, double-chromed exhaust, sportier looking spoilers and sill extensions, checkered flag grille pattern, the French or the Union Jack flag printed on the lower grille bar as well as the 18 inch wheels.
The 208 GTi has a sporty interior as well which concentrates everything around the driver, and in this case some of te features include a flat-bottom steering wheel, Nappa leather trim sports seats, high-tech instruments with LED backlighting to the surrounds, black roof lining and aluminium pedals.
2012 BMW M5 vs Nissan GT-R: Review by Chris Harris
Even though they don’t quite compete in the same category, there are certainly things that bring the 2012 BMW M5 and the 2012 Nissan GT-R together. They both share the big body style, they both use twin turbocharged engines, and according to Harris, they each like to “bully the road”.
Autocar has already compared these two cars and now Harris is bringing a more comprehensive analysis on what the M5 and the GT-R are capable of in relationship with one another.
2013 Volvo V40: This is it !
Here are the first photos that reveal the 2013 Volvo V40 ahead of its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show.
The photos surfaced through the Dutch at Autoblog.nl and are basically scans taken from an unreleased magazine.
By using the google translate tool we managed to find out that the upcoming V40 will be 2.2 cm shorter than the V50 model, it will measure 4.5 m in length, and it will be offered with optional all-wheel-drive on all its models.
Chrysler Ypsilon Black and Red Launched in UK
Chrysler has just announced that they will begin selling the Black and Red special edition Ypsilon in the UK starting this month.
With this model the automaker plans on attracting new and different customers to the model range and to the Chrysler brand, with Nigel Land, brand director, Jeep Chrysler UK stating that “We’re delighted to be launching this new addition to the popular Ypsilon line-up,” “With additional equipment worth more than 3000 GBP packed into a car that starts from just 12,750 GBP, we believe Black&Red will become a valuable member of the Ypsilon family.”
2013 Audi A3 Leaked
An official photo with the 2013 Audi A3 has leaked online last night offering a clear view of how the upcoming premium hatchback will look like from the front.
There are no major surprises as far as design, with the car looking in-line with the rest of the automaker’s existing models. It typical Audi fashion the new A3 looks simple yet expressive and elegant, and we can even go as far as calling this new version better looking than the latest 1 Series from BMW.
Porsche Macan Announced
Porsche announced the naming of its new sports car in the SUV segment – ‘Macan’. The name Macan derives from the Indonesian word for tiger and “combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics”.
Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG stated that “The Macan combines all sports car characteristics with the benefits of a SUV and is a genuine Porsche” “The name of a new Porsche has to fit with the brand, sound good in very many languages and dialects and evoke positive associations.”
2013 Ferrari California unveiled
The prancing horse is presenting the initial facts referring to the 2013 Ferrari California, with this updated version scheduled to premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
There are no visual changes applied to this revised version, however the car will come with a 30 Kg lighter body due to the updated chassis developed with the company’s “cutting-edge aluminium fabrication techniques and construction technologies”, plus a 30 HP boost in performance.
Lumma CLR 600 GT BMW 650i Cabriolet
Lumma Design has prepared an upgrade kit for the 2012 BMW 650i Cabriolet, a kit that is dubbed the CLR 600 GT which will be revealed for the first time at the 82nd edition Geneva Motor Show next month.
The German tuner has worked on improving both the visual and performance aspects of this model, with the exterior featuring an aerodynamic package complemented by 20 inch GTB Monoblock wheels wrapped in Vredestein Ultra-High-Performance tires and LED daytime running lights along the front spoiler.
