2011 Nissan Micra review video
Autocar is back with a new review video, and this time the car being tested is the 2011 Nissan Micra unveiled at last year’s Geneva Motor Show.
The version which is featured in this review is the 1.2 12V Tekna, priced at 12,095 GBP which produces 79 bhp @ 6,000 rpm and 81 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm thanks to its 3-cylinder 1198cc petrol plant which sends power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 2011 Nissan Micra has a kerb weight of 970 Kg, and when sprinting from 0 to 62 mph (o to 100 Km/h) the new micro hatch needs 13.7 seconds.
LUXGEN7 SUV Sports+ and MPV Elegance+
The LUXGEN7 SUV Sports+ and MPV Elegance+ have been unveiled during the 2011 Taipei Automobile & Accessories Exhibition, both featuring a series of unique design features for the exterior, as well as various enhancements at the interior.
On the LUXGEN7 SUV Sports+ the Taiwanese automaker has applied a two tone body finish, with black and red paintwork, blackened headlights and taillights, 20 inch alloy wheels, and a new exhaust with four tailpipes at the back.
2012 Kia Picanto
We have already seen sketches with the 2012 Kia Picanto, but thanks to the guys at Autoblog.nl, we now also have official photos with the new generation compact hatch which will get unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Designed by the company’s European design team in Germany, the 2012 Kia Picanto will be available with four engine choices, ranging from 1.0-litre to 1.2-litres in capacity, among which a new three-cylinder turbo diesel.
Ferrari 612 Shooting Brake Concept
According to the British press, the Itialian sports car maker is planning to stun their fans at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, by introducing a Shooting Brake Concept based on the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.
The Ferrari 612 Shooting Brake Concept would represent the first creation coming from a new stying team supervised by Fiat’s Design chief and Lorenzo Ramaciotti, former head of Pininfarina Design Studio, and the main purpose with this car is to “find out what we can put the marque’s DNA into and still have it accepted as a Ferrari.”
Woman in Camaro trying to escape Police – Fails
This next video has recently popped up on YouTube, and if the day it was added coincides with the day this event took place, then the woman inside the Camaro has most probably missed the New Year’s Eve festivities.
We do not have the exact details of what happened, but it looks like after her Chevy Camaro was cornered by a Police Officer in a Crown Victoria, she decided to back into his car and try to escape. Her reaction might indicate that she was stopped for more than just a traffic violation, or she simply had a very bad day.
2012 Ford Focus Electric teaser
The Blue Oval has chosen Facebook as the place to present the first teaser image with the 2012 Ford Focus Electric, while its public unveiling will take place in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which will run between January 6 to 9.
As you can the charging port will be surrounded by a glowing blue light, and even though technical details are still kept secret, there are rumors that say the 2012 Ford Focus Electric will use a 23 kW lithium-polymer battery that will enable a driving range of around 100 miles between recharges.
Merdad Porsche Cayenne Coupe video
.Merdad has released an official video with the Porsche Cayenne Coupe on their YouTube channel, which is basically a compilation of photos featuring their 902 2 Door Cayenne shot on location and also at the London Motor Show and MPH Show.
Based on the 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo the Merdad Porsche Cayenne Coupe has lost its rear passenger doors, and received two elongated doors at the front, as well as a redesigned front bumper, new 22 inch black alloys, and an electronically controlled suspension which can lower the SUV’s ride height by 40 mm.
Video: Cars Sliding and Crashing on Icy Road
This next footage was shot by a man in Colorado Springs, who witnessed dozens of cars trying to go uphill on a icy road, sliding backwards and then crashing into other vehicles parked on the side.
We already showed you a video that underlined the advantages of having winter tires vs summer tires, but for everyone involved here it is obviously too late. And just to be realistic, on an icy road like the one seen in this next video, the best choice would have be studded tires.
Porsche 911 GT2 9FF GTurbo 1200 review video
The French journalists from Option Auto went to Dortmund, Germany with the purpose of test driving the most powerful version Porsche 911 ever made, the Porsche 911 GT2 9FF GTurbo 1200, which packs no less than an incredible 1,200 HP and 1,100 Nm of torque.
On the extensive list of modifications that had to be taken in order to dial up performance at this insane levels, there is the increased engine capacity from 3.8-litres to 4.0-litres, bigger turbochargers, titanium connection rods, 9ff cylinders, pistons, valve springs and camshafts, and 130 mm intercoolers.
Mercedes B55 gets 388 HP 5.5 litre V8
Mercedes has recently published photos and a video with its one-off V8 powered, rear wheel drive B55 based on the B Class model that came to life thanks to an idea from Peter Wesp, plant manager at the Mercedes Tastatt facility.
The B 200 CDI model used as the platform for the V8 powered Mercedes B55 spins the wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox, and the amount of power that can be generated reaches 388 horses and 530 Nm of torque.
