2012 BMW M5 Review by Chris Harris
Chris Harris was fortunate enough to get behind the wheel of the new BMW M5 back when the car was only in prototype stage, but right now, as the new M5 is on sale, it is even more interesting to see express his opinions about the ‘final product’.
Before offering the final verdict on the 2012 BMW M5 he first asks a few few questions, which he also answers later on in his review.
2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe M Sport Package
The Bavarians have recently published numerous new photos and a promo video with the 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe M Sport Package as the new derivative is entering the UK market.
We have to say that the white livery suits the car’s dynamic lines and it also matches perfectly with the optional adaptive LED headlights which provide bright white light similar to natural light. The 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe M Sport Package can be matched with two turbocharged petrols and a twin-turbocharged diesel rated between 313 to 407 HP.
Vygor Opera Photos
Just as we finished our previous post, Vygor has unveiled photos with the Opera. The car is going to be produced in a limited run of 150 exemplars and as we can see, its appearance tries to reflect the fact that it has a dual nature, meaning it is both an SUV and a GT car.
Vygor has yet to unveil the full technical details for this car, and we are curious to find out where the engine comes from, but until then we know that the three power stages that will be available for the Opera will offer between 300 to over 400 horsepower.
Vygor Opera SUV GT
Almost two weeks ago the Italian company called Vygor was teasing us with their upcoming model, which according to one of their new statements is called Opera.
We are still waiting for the complete press release and the photos that will fully presents this model (and if Vygor will keep its promise that will happen later on today), but untill then we can still tell you that the Opera will be an 4-wheel-drive vehicle which will combine the driving characteristics of a Gran Turismo with the comfort of high ground clearance.
Volkswagen up Price
UK pricing for the new Volkswagen up has just been announced, as the new city car will arrive at dealerships in spring 2012 and is already available for ordering.
Promising to offer ‘big car space’ in a compact body, the Volkswagen up comes in three-door body styles, with four seats at the interior, three trim levels (Take up!, Move up! and High up!) and a special edition (the up! black and up! white).
Mazda RX8 SPIRIT R
The RX8 will be out of production by the end of summer 2012, but according to Mazda, this will not mean that rotary engine development will also stop.
The Japanese car maker has just announced one final special edition model called the Mazda RX8 SPIRIT R based on the 6-speed manual version RX8 Type RS and the 6-speed automatic Type E, which will go on sale on the company’s home market from November 24th.
Video: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Nurburgring Lap Time
GM has taken the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to the Nurburgring in order to see how fast it goes. They used the company’s test driver Aaron Link to perform this test and the result? well the 2012 Camaro ZL1 is nearly 40 seconds faster than the Camaro SS tested in 2009, as it managed to lap the Ring in 7:41.27.
GM has used a car that featured no performance modifications and is identical to the one on production, with this new record achieved from a flying start.
Romeo Ferraris Developing 300 HP Abarth 500
Romeo Ferraris have just announced that they will unveil a 300 HP, road going version Abarth 500 at the Autodromo Vallelunga Village Superstars event held between October 8 and 9.
The car will be inspired from the track version shown in the picture, with some of the upgrades including a new front bumper with larger air intakes,a vented bonnet, a modified rear section and a new exhaust featuring a metal catalytic converter.
Volkswagen Touareg Widebody Kit by Je Design
Je Design is presenting a widebody kit conversion for all Volkswagen Touareg models, including the Touareg R-Line.
The kit gives the German SUV a striking appearance and it consists of elements such as a new grille, custom spoilers, wider wheel arches, an aggressive looking tailgate panel and a rear apron insert. All these carry a price tag of 4,641 Euro and can be accompanied by a 595 Euro dual exhaust system featuring stainless steel end pipes plus Je Design’s 22 inch aluminium wheels wrapped in high-performance tires (5,190 Euro).
MTM Audi RS3 Sportback
Ingolstadt-based small-volume manufacturer, MTM has prepared a power upgrade program for the Audi RSE Sportback 2.5 TFSI.
The car’s new output level is 472 HP (a 132 HP increase over the stock version) and around 600 Nm of torque, which resulted from the addition of a few modified components such as a new turbocharger and new spark plugs.
