VW has just released new detailed information regarding the new generation 2011 Volkswagen CrossPolo.
When compared to the previous model the new Volkswagen CrossPolo has gained 15 mm in height, and under the bonnet the company’s ‘all-terrain’ looking car can feature one of the six available engine choices (3 petrol and 3 diesel), with power ranging from 70 PS (51 kW) to 105 PS (77 kW).
Audi R15 TDI winner at 2010 Le Mans 24h
The Audi R15 TDI has claimed the first three positions at the 2010 Le Mans 24h race, achieving a victory against the Peugeot 908s which all faced mechanical problems.
This year’s winning Audi R15 TDIs represent the automaker’s first Le Mans expoit of the Variable Turbine Geometry, and the cars have reached record distances. Unfortunately for the Peugeot 908 cars, mechanical issues had forced each of them to stop before the race finish.
Ferrari 458 Italia test drive
Fifth Gear’s Jason Plato, BTCC champion and former pilot has taken the Ferrari 458 Italia out for a test drive.
As a reminder the Ferrari 458 Italia features a 4.5-litre V8 engine that outputs 570 HP and can reach top speeds of 325 Km/h. The Ferrari 458 Italia rockets from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.4 seconds and is packed with the company’s latest high-tech goodies and as you will see, Jason Plato is really impressed with it.
Mitsubishi EVO XI hybrid
New info on the next generation Mitsubishi EVO XI is starting to emerge, and according to the British press, the car’s powertrain will be a diesel hybrid.
The 2013 Mitsubishi EVO XI hybrid was initially planed to receive the petrol hybrid powertrain from the PX-MiEV Concept, but it seems like the Japanese automaker has changed its mind, preferring a diesel powerplant.
Video: Honda Civic Type R Mugen vs Audi R8 V10
This next video is a rather unusual test done by the Brits from Autocar who wanted to see if the Honda Civic Type R Mugen can keep up with Audi R8 V10 on some twisty public roads.
We’re not quite sure if this comparison test has any relevance but here are the specs for both cars:
The Honda Civic Type R Mugen weights 1233 Kg and has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 239 bhp @ 8,300 rpm and 157 lb-ft of torque @ 6,250 rpm. With this engine the Honda Civic Type R Mugen can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 6 seconds while maximum speed is 146 mph. Pricing is 38,599 GBP.
Mercedes SLS review
Autocar has rated the Mercedes SLS AMG in their 90 seconds review, giving 4 stars to the new Gullwing.
Producing 563bhp from its 6.3-litre V8 the Mercedes SLS AMG accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 200 mph. Power is put to the ground via a 7-speed automatic and pricing is close to 160,000 GBP.
2011 Mercedes R Class new images
Daimler has published new details regarding the 2011 Mercedes R Class along with a large new photo gallery.
The range opening version is the 2011 Mercedes R 300 CDI BE which is also the most fuel efficient as it needs between 7.6 and 7.8 litres of fuel per 100 Km and has CO2 emissions of 199 – 206 grams per Km. The 2011 Mercedes R 300 CDI BE extracts power from a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 190 HP (140 kW) thanks to which accelerating from 0 to 100 Km/h takes 9.5 seconds.
2010 Peugeot 107 Millesim
Besides the 207 and 308 the French car maker has also applied their Millesim treatment on the Peugeot 107 hatchback.
The 2010 Peugeot 107 Millesim is equipped with a 3-cylinder petrol engine that has CO2 emissions of only 106 grams per Km and comes with 14 inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, rev counter, special colour trim and air vent surrounds plus the Millesim 200 badging.
2011 Nissan Versa price
US pricing for both sedan and hatchback versions 2011 Nissan Versa has just been announced. For the 1.6-litre sedan the 2011 Nissan Versa price starts at 9,990 USD, meaning no increase comparing to the outgoing version.
There are a total of 9 models 2011 Nissan Versa offered with four types of transmission and some of the newly added features include an in-dash 6-disc CD player for the Sedan 1.8 S, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), a low-cost Navigation/Satellite Package plus XM Satellite Radio and XM NavTraffic.
2011 Suzuki Swift
The first images along with initial details regarding the 2011 Suzuki Swift have been revealed. The 2011 Suzuki Swift is 3.85 m long, 1,69 m wide and 1,51 m height and under the hood a 1.2-litre petrol unit with Dual VVT (Variable intake and exhaust valve timing) delivers 94PS @ 6,000 rpm and 118 Nm of torque @ 4,800 rpm.
This engine enables the 2011 Suzuki Swift to return 56.5 mpg (UK rating) and have CO2 emissions of 116 grams per Km, which means an improvement of 7.8 mpg while emitting with 24 grams of CO2 less per Km when compared to the outgoing model.
