British automotive reporters from Autocar are talking about VW planning a new niche model – the Volkswagen Passat CC estate.
This rumor is apparently being fueled by anonymous sources in Germany who already know that the Volkswagen Passat CC estate won’t make it across the Atlantic. As far as engine options the Volkswagen Passat CC estate will probably use the same units found of the regular 4-door coupe version.

European tuner MaxPower is offering a series a custom parts designed to apply an exlcusive touch on the Chrysler 300C sedan.
All components fitted on the MaxPower Chrysler 300C are made from high quality ABS, which means high flexibility without braking and a smooth surface. These elements include the front grille, sub-spoiler, bonnet spoiler, front fenders and lush vents behind the wheel cutout.
Wildcat 300STR
The first road legal Wildcat 300STR off-roader has been launched. Powered by a 4.0-litre Rover V8 engine the Wildcat 300STR is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and reach ‘3-figure speeds’ while also delivering decent economy and emission figures.
The Wildcat 300STR is four-wheel drive and its occupants will benefit from features like air conditioning, bluetooth, iPod dock and stereo hi-fi.
Dacia Hamster
Information regarding Romania’s first hybrid model, the Dacia Hamster, is starting to surface the web. Images that appear to be a spied Dacia Hamster have been posted on the Dacia Club forum, but it remains to be seen if the French mother company, Renault will green light the hybrid technology for the budget Romanian brand.
If the Dacia Hamster is not part of some study project and will ever see the daylight then it will apparently feature pretty much the same exterior as the Sandero with modified taillights and a petrol engine mated to a electric motor under its skin.
Porsche refuses to race MINI Cooper S
You must remember last week’s article in which we talked about MINI’s USA president, Jim McDowell challenging Porsche to a race at Road Atlanta.
Well the duel will not happen anymore as Porsche’s North America President and CEO, Detlev Von Platen released a letter saying Porsche refuses to bring the 911 Carrera S to take on the MINI Cooper S.

More sports car action coming from FifthGear who used Jason Plato and Tiff Needell for their latest comparison test involving an Audi R8 Spyder against the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio.
The Audi R8 Spyder and the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio are tested in a 0 to 100 mph and back to 0 mph test in which Stuttgart’s cabrio emerged as the winner.

Smart Fortwo electric drive coming to US and Canada
After being launched on the European market, Daimler is now announcing that the Smart Fortwo electric drive is coming to US and Canada.
The second generation Smart Fortwo electric drive is powered by a lithium-ion battery positioned between the two axles and a 30 kW electric motor at the rear of the car which together car deliver 120 Nm. With a fully charged battery the Smart Fortwo electric drive can cover 135 Km, and from 2012 the car will total almost 40 markets across Europe, North America and Asia.
Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Diesel price
Deliveries for Stuttgart’s new generation SUV is beginning so the company has announced the Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Diesel price.
The new Porsche Cayenne equipped with Tiptronic S returns 28.5 mpg, while the Cayenne Diesel enables 38.2 mpg, meaning a 20 percent higher efficiency on both models which also have CO2 emission levels below 200 grams per Km.
