Ginetta G60
Ginetta has unveiled their new two-seater sports car, the G60. With production restricted to 50 exemplars, the Ginetta G60 will extract power from a 3.7-litre V6 rated at 310 HP (231 kW) and if these figures seem familiar, it is because the engine comes from the Ford Mustang V6.
Tipping the scale at 1,100 Kg the Ginneta G60 had to sacrifice modern day features such as ABS, Traction Control or servo assisted steering and brakes, but according to the company, the result is a car which goes from 0 to 60 mpg in less than 4 seconds and which can also hit a maximum speed of 165 mph (265 Km/h).
Alfa Romeo announces 1.8 litre 300 HP Euro 6 Engine
Italian automaker Alfa Romeo announced the production of a new gasoline direct injection turbo engine at their homeland factory in Pratola Serra from early 2013.
This engine is a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder unit designed for both transverse and longitudinal applications which will deliver 300 HP and will meet the Euro 6 and the US Tier 2 Bin 5 emission standards.
Alfa Romeo’s new 1.8-litre engine will be entirely made from aluminium and incorporates technologies such as a 200-bar gasoline direct injection system, dual valve timing and a high-efficiency turbo. The new powerplant will set new standards in terms of power-to-weight ratio and efficiency, and is also designed to provide acoustic and vibrational comfort.
Video: 2012 Porsche 911 Interior
This video that was recently published on Porsche’s official YouTube channel offers details on some of the changes that are featured by the interior for the new 2012 911, and the ideas that inspired those changes.
The interview is held with Martin Pohanka, Lead of Design for the interior of the new 911, who says that the car combines old, traditional Carrera elements with new features, and by old he means the five dial dash or the theme line on top pf the dashboard, while the new refers to the Carrera GT style, high-rising center console.
Novitec Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
The latest car to arrive in the hands of Novotec Rosso is Maseriati’s sportiest model – the GranTurismo CM Stradale.
After they upgraded it with a SUPERSPORT turbocharger, a water-to-air intercooler, a bigger manifold, larger injectors and a remapped ECU, the 4.7-litre 8-cylinder 4-valve engine powering the Novitec Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale was able to produce no less than 646 horses (474 kW) and at 7,500 rpm and 624 Nm of torque at 5,600 rpm, which means a 196 hp (144.1 kW) boost over the stock version.
2012 Chevrolet Colorado Detailed
The 2012 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck had its global premiere today in Thailand, with this new generation model packing more technology and features, and scheduled to go on sale in more than 60 markets worldwide.
With a total of 26 combination of models, powertrains, cabins and ride heights, the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado range includes single-, extended- and crew-cab body styles with high and low-stance configurations, wide and narrow body options and with a choice between 2WD and 4WD drivetrains.
Nissan Juke R Confirmed
The Japanese automaker has confirmed their ‘crazy’ project which we discussed here on CarSession around a week ago.
The car will be called the Nissan Juke R and due to the fact that its power will come from the same engine found in the GTR, meaning a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 rated at 520 HP, we tend to agree that this will be the ultimate compact crossover.
The Nissan Juke R will also adopt the GTR’s 6-speed transaxel, with the front and rear trasaxles joined by a custom 4WD driveline, and also its wheels which are 20 inch RAYS forged alloys.
2012 Kia Soul Facelift Price
Kia has priced the facelift version 2012 Soul going on sale in the UK from October 3rd. The automaker’s ‘urban crossover’ comes with increased performance and lower consumption and emissions, plus an interior that features extra added equipment and higher quality materials.
At the exterior this revised model features a slightly modified grille, tweaked headlights, new wheels, plus a new bumper with a wider and lower air intake. The vertical rear light clusters have also been revised and incorporate LEDs, while the other changes include body coloured door handles and mirrors, a top tinted wind screen, and turn signals integrated into the door mirrors.
Seat Mii Unveiled
Seat has officially unveiled the Mii. This model represents the third variation part of Volkswagen’s city car offensive (apart from the Skoda Citygo and the VW up!) and is expected to go on sale in Spain next month, while the rest of Europe will get it from spring 2012.
Just like the up! the Mii will initially be available as a three-door, but a 5-door body style is also scheduled to enter the market towards the end of next year.
Offered with two equipment packages (Chic and Sport) and three trim levels, the 2012 Seat Mii will extract its power from a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol offered with two power stages (60 HP and 75 HP). The 60 HP version will emit 105 g/Km of CO2 and will require 4.5-litres of fuel per 100 Km while the 75 HP model has CO2 levels of 108 g/Km and covers 100 Km on 4.7 litres of fuel.
Techart Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Panamera Turbo Power Kits
Techart is developing power kit after power kit, further enabling Porsche owners to increase the output on their cars.
This time the well known German tuner has prepared two power kits that raise performance on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Panamera Turbo.
The first is called the TA 058/T2 and it provides an additional 160 PS (118 kW) and 180 Nm of torque to Stuttgart’s hot selling SUV. Thanks to this upgrade the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, which now produces a total of 660 HP (486 kW), is capable of sprinting rom 0 to 100 Km/h 0.5 seconds faster than the standard model (in 4.2 seconds) and can hit a top speed of 305 Km/h.
New vs Old: Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano vs F40
The Prancing Horse has published an official video on YouTube called the “Duel for the Crown” which is basically a promo video for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. However, instead of comparing the Italian gran turismo to one of its rivals, or simply bragging about what what the car is capable of, the 599 GTB Fiorano is presented in side by side race against the older, or maybe we should say classic Ferrari F40.
As the automaker mentioned, the 599 GTB was developed with a few, clear objectives in mind: to increase driving pleasure and performance and to ensure comfort, ergonomics and safety.
