The Prancing Horse has published an official video on YouTube called the "Duel for the Crown" which is basically a promo video for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. However, instead of comparing the Italian gran turismo to one of its rivals, or simply bragging about what what the car is capable of, the 599 GTB Fiorano is presented in side by side race against the older, or maybe we should say classic Ferrari F40.
As the automaker mentioned, the 599 GTB was developed with a few, clear objectives in mind: to increase driving pleasure and performance and to ensure comfort, ergonomics and safety.
The video is an absolute masterpiece, and should be viewed with the speakers volume turned up, but before you hit play you might like to know a few figures that characterise these two models.
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is equipped with F1 traction control, sprints from 0 to 100 Km/h in 3.4 seconds, can reach top speeds in excess of 330 Km/h and can also brake from 100 Km/h to 0 in 33 meters.
As for the old-school Ferrari F40, the car has no traction control, can accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in 4.1 seconds and can hit a maximum speed of 324 Km/h. Bringing the F40 to a full stop from 100 Km/h requires 45.7 meters of asphalt.
