2012 Mercedes SLK image
This image was taken as a screen shot from what appeared to be a leaked French promo for the 2012 Mercedes SLK, but as we were writing this article the video was taken down.
As the image shows, the 2012 Mercedes SLK will feature a front fascia that resembles the SLS through its proeminent grille and headlights design that incorporate the adaptive lighting system, the front quarter vents and the LED daytime running lights.
Kia Soul Searcher
The newest addition to the ‘Originals’ line-up, the Kia Soul Searcher will go on sale across UK starting from January 4th.
The Kia Soul Searcher comes with a set of unique features included as standard like light green metallic body paint, a cream and brown full leather interior, a chromed grille, door handle and roof rails, darkened headlights, front and rear mud flaps and 18 inch alloys.
The Kia Soul Searcher is also offered with front fog lights, electric folding mirrors, privacy glass and rear parking sensors as standard, and in terms of motorisation, the car is equipped with a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel plant.
Volkswagen Transporter Rockton 4MOTION
VW decided to expand its full size van model range with a new addition called the Volkswagen Transporter Rockton 4MOTION, which as you can see is oriented towards out-door activities and off-road terrains.
The Volkswagen Transporter Rockton 4MOTION which is based on the latest Kombi model and features a series of upgrades that include a Haldec based 4-wheel drive system, a differential lock on the rear axle, a stronger suspension and 33 mm higher ground clearance.
Renault DeZir test drive video
The crew from EVO had a chance to ‘play’ with the Renault DeZir Concept, and even ‘test drive’ is on public roads, if we can call it that.
In reality the Renault DeZir is more about presenting design ideas for future production models like the next generation Clio, plus the concept wants to show that electrical cars and sporty cars can mean the same thing.
Video: Shelby GT500 Engine detonation
In this next video we have a tuned 2008 Shelby GT500 having a bad day on a dyno. And by having a bad day we mean engine detonation at 800 HP.
We all know that upgrading a car, especially when you’re pushing limits like 800 HP, means assuming some risks, and even though this Shelby GT500 has ‘behaved’ well in the past, through its many dyno runs, drag races and road course racing, this time it all went wrong.
As the YouTube video poster explains, the reason why this Shelby GT500 blew up on the dyno was a stretched Rod bolt.
H&R Volkswagen Polo GTI
We have a new vehicle on which H&R has upgraded the suspension, and this time we’re talking about the 2010 Volkswagen Polo GTI.
Even though it looks innocent, the 2010 Volkswagen Polo GTI packs 180 PS which get sent to the wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, so H&R decided to step in and improve its handling and stability.
Audi Quattro Concept review video
The Brits from Auto Express had a chance to drive the Audi Quattro Concept, which premiered at this year’s Paris Motor Show and which pays homage to the original Quattro model from 30 years ago.
Some of the design elements on the Audi Quattro Concept that remind of the Sport Quattro from 1984 are the air vents at the front or the bog C pillars, and according to the German automaker, the car is based on a shorter Audi RS5 platform, with a 2.5-litre turbocharged 5-cylinder engine from the TT RS under its bonnet.
Ferrari 458 Challenge debut
The Ferrari 458 Challenge has debuted today at the 35th edition Bologna Motor Show, and this lighter, and faster version of the 458 Italia will start participating in one-make racing event starting from 2011.
The Ferrari 458 Challenge uses the same 4.5-litre V8 as the road going model, which means it outputs 570 HP @ 9,000 rpm, but features improved gear ratios thanks to its dual-clutch F1 gearbox that guarantees higher torque at lower revs, and an E-Diff electronic differential which is a first for Ferrari track-only cars.
London G-Wiz
The London G-Wiz is a special edition model developed by UK’s G-Wiz retailer, GoingGreen which commemorates the electric vehicle’s association with the city of London.
The London G-Wiz was designed by ContainerPLUS, and the car has its first public appearance on the Oxford Street at the Shop West Enf VIP Day on November 27th.
GoingGreen has sold over 1,000 electrical G-Wiz cars to customers living in London since 2004, and the vehicle is now associated with UK’s capital.
Kia ceed and pro ceed VR-7 CRDi Special Edition
The Korean company is announcing that the Kia ceed and pro ceed hatchbacks are now available with the economical 1.6 CRDi turbodiesel engine under the VR-7 CRDi Special Edition badge.
As you can imagine the Kia ceed and pro ceed VR-7 CRDi Special Edition models also come with a number of additional features which would help buyers save up to 815 GBP, as apposed to adding the same kind of equipment separately.
The Kia ceed and pro ceed VR-7 CRDi Special Edition come with Bluetooh and iPod connectivity, reverse parking sensors, body-coated 16-inch alloys, healed, electrical exterior mirrors, a 6-speaker CD/stereo, a leather wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever plus ‘one-touch’ electric front windows.
