2011 Land Rover Defender X-Tech Edition
More special edition models, this time from Land Rover who will launch the 2011 Defender X-Tech, an all-terrain vehicle with raw and edgy style.
The 2011 Land Rover Defender X-Tech Edition comes with a Zermatt Silver exterior finish and contrasting Santorini Black accents, 16-inch Saw Tooth alloys also painted black, plus an Ebony interior with leather side bolsters for the seats.
Smart ForTwo Lightshine Edition
A new special edition smart launched in the UK, called the Smart ForTwo Lightshine which is based on the passion coupe version and which features a series of enhancements at both the exterior and interior.
The Smart ForTwo Lightshine Edition will be limited to 86 exemplars, with power extracted from a 54 bhp cdi engine using a softip transmission that enables CO2 emissions of just 86 grams per Km, the latest figure in the world for a combustion engine car.
Ford Vertrek video
This Ford Vertrek video was shot during the press presentation on Monday, when the Blue Oval announced that a compact crossover based on this concept will replace both the European and American Kuga in early 2013.
In terms of appearance the Ford Vertrek reflects the latest trends in Kinetic design, the car is also 5 percent more aerodynamic when compared to the Kuga, and it offers more space for its passengers and their luggage
2011 Kia Rio sketches
The first 2011 Kia Rio sketches have just been revealed today, and as you can see the automaker wants to turn their next B-segment model intro something more appealing.
The next generation model will be longer, lower and wider, and as the company says, the 2011 Kia Rio will target ‘progressive, energetic consumers who want a stand-out design’. To ensure this, its designers have given the 2011 Kia Rio a swept-back profile and a character line rising out from the front wheel for a more dynamic appearance, while at the interior customers should expect a level of quality usually found in more expensive models.
Honda Jazz Hybrid review video
After test driving the smallest and cheapest hybrid that will hit the UK market in February, the Brits from Autoexpress have published this Honda Jazz Hybrid review video and told us what they think about it.
The Honda Jazz Hybrid was unveiled during the Paris Motor Show in 2010 and features a 101 BHP 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine under its skin, an electric motor which can offer an additional 78 Nm of torque plus a Nickel-Metal Hydride battery.
Video: 2012 Honda Civic Concepts
After previewing the 9th generation Civic in concept forms at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show, the Japanese company has also published videos with the 2012 Honda Civic Si Coupe and 2012 Honda Civic Sedan, with the actual production models set to enter the American market in the following months.
As you can see both these 2012 Honda Civic Concepts are improving on the automaker’s current models in terms of design, with the Si Coupe looking a bit more aggressive while the Sedan resembles the current Accord Coupe.
Audi SQ5 and RSQ5
Rumors referring to performance versions of the Audi Q5 named under the SQ5 and RSQ5 badges have circulated around the Internet for some time, some of each even mentioned them being launched as soon as 2011.
These rumors are back, as one of Car and Driver’s sources in Germany has mentioned that the German automaker has already registered the SQ5 and RSQ5 monikers. Could it be that these performance crossovers will be shown in Geneva in March?
Audi A1 quattro testing
Audi is preparing to add a quattro version to their A1 lineup, and at this point they are testing a prototype all-wheel-drive A1 on the show covered roads of Montreal, Canada.
The Audi A1 quattro will features pretty much the same technology as the one used in the A3 and TT models, meaning it will have an electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch located in front of the rear axle for an optimized distribution of weight. The package of plates inside it rotate in an oil bath.
Jeep 70th Anniversary Special Edition Models
Chrysler announced at this year’s edition Detroit Motor Show that it will launch five special edition Jeep models as part of celebrating the company’s 70th anniversary.
The Jeep 70th Anniversary Special Edition Models will include the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Compass, Patriot, Liberty and Wrangler, all of which will features unique body colours (Bronze Star), special wheels, perforated leather seats available in various colours, plus various other trim options and inserts.
Hyundai Curb video
This is the first video with the Hyundai Curb Concept unveiled in Detroit yesterday, and even through the footage is static, we do get to see a few scenes with that futuristic dashboard, composed from a large acrylic screen which allows information to be passed between passengers.
Just like the Nissan Juke the Hyundai Curb Concept is a compact crossover developed for urban activity, which means dynamic styling, a technology packed interior and a small engine under its bonnet.
