Geneva 2011: Porsche Panamera Hybrid and Diesel
We previously reported about the fact that the German automaker is working on a hybrid Porsche Panamera, and now it looks like a diesel version is on its way as well.
The Porsche Panamera Hybrid and diesel versions will premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March, and it looks the the company is creating a tradition, considering that at the 80th edition Geneva Motor Show, they have introduced the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid and diesel.
850HP Dacia Duster at Pikes Peak
We have some more rumors for you today, this time involving the low-cost brand Dacia, which according to the French at Leblogauto, has received an order for a 850HP Dacia Duster from Jean Philippe Dayraut who wants to be among the participants at this year’s Pikes Peak challenge.
Jean Philippe Dayraut is a 41 years olf French driver who will pilot a BMW in this year’s Throphee Andros, competing against Alain Prost who as you might know, will be at the wheel of a Dacia Duster Ice.
BMW 1 Series GT rumor
This leaked photo which was apparently unveiled by a UK publication is the subject of a new rumor regarding the German automaker who might be planing a smaller version of the 5 Series GT and 3 Series GT. If that is the case then BMW 1 Series GT moniker will only seem natural, while a front-wheel-drive architecture will most probably be the way to go.
The BMW 1 Series GT looks like a combination between a five-door hatchback and a Touring, and if we look at the size of those doors, we can understand that the car is about been spacious and flexible yet also compact.
2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid
The Swedish car maker Volvo announced that it will unveil the 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid at 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The 2012 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid will feature a unique powertrain composed from a 2.4-litre 5-cylinder D5 turbodiesel engine producing 215 HP and 400 Nm of torque and an electric rear axle (ERAD) generating 70 HP which is linked to a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5 Juro price
Mitsubishi Motors of UK have announced pricing and specifications for their new special edition model, the Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5 Juro.
Based on the current 1.5 GS2 the Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5 Juro comes with a generous list of equipment included as standard, like black leather upholstery, satellite navigation from Kenwood, a rear view camera, 16 inch alloys, climate control, electric windows, a leather steering wheel, numerous airbags and electric/heated exterior mirrors.
Suzuki GSX R600 price
The Suzuki GSX R600 price and availability has been announced, with the Supersport class bike expected to arrive in dealerships across UK next week.
Comparing to the previous generation the new Suzuki GSX R600 has been completely redesigned, itit 9 Kg lighter and it uses the latest race-track technology which includes Showa Big Piston Forks, Brembo Monoblock brake callipers, a 15mm shorter wheelbase and a completely revised engine.
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore
It seems like special edition models are the way to go these days. Another special model premiering in Qatar today is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore, which is going to be sold exclusively on the European and Asian-Pacific markets. The American market will only get the LP 550-2 variant.
As the name suggests the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Bicolore is about creating contrasts between two colours which in these case are the Noctis Black roof in combination with five available body finishes.
Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 Qatar
The second world exclusive model presented by the German car maker at the Qatar Motor Show today is the Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 Qatar, which is a street legal version of the Dakar Rally racer.
Just like the Dakar wining model, the Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 Qatar packs 310 PS (228 kW) and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in less than 6.0 seconds. The street legal version comes with a slightly modified body,th ‘Magic Mourning’ body finish, golden 18 inch BBS alloys instead of 16 inch, and side logos also featuring a golden colour.
Volkswagen Touareg Gold Edition
More special edition models unveiled in Qatar today, this time from VW who is introducing the Volkswagen Touareg Gold Edition which is also exclusively destined for buyers in the Middle East.
The Volkswagen Touareg Gold Edition features various 24 carat gold upgrades, which at the exterior are covering elements like the 22 inch alloys, roof rails, protective side strips and window frames, mirror caps and air intake frame.
Porsche Panamera 4S Exclusive Middle East Edition
Porsche has registered record sales in 2010 on markets like China and the Middle East where the Stuttgart based automaker has delivered 14,785 and 6,842 vehicles respectively.
The Porsche Cayenne was the most popular model on both these markets, so in order to keep this profitable business going, the company decided to introduce the Porsche Panamera 4S Exclusive Middle East Edition at the Qatar Motor Show today.
