2013 Kia K9 Sketches
Kia revealed three sketches with its upcoming flagship sedan, the K9 (codenamed KH).
The K9 “is expected to establish new standards for design flair in the large sedan segment” and will represent the automaker’s first rear wheel drive vehicle.
The 2013 Kia K9 which will be launched on the automaker’s home market in the first half of 2012 has been designed to look “distinctive, modern and classic” and the most important features are its bold-front incorporating the bigger grille and the newly designed headlamps, the single character line on the side and the high-tech rear combination lamp clusters.
2013 Lexus RX Facelift Leaked
A number of brochure scans featuring the 2013 Lexus RX have leaked online during the weekend, offering a clear view of how the facelifted Japanese crossover will look like.
The most striking visual feature on the new RX will surely be its new spindle grille, while other revised elements that we noticed by analysing the photos include a pair of LED infused headlamps, new taillights, redesigned bumpers and refreshed wheel designs.
The interior of the 2013 Lexus RX has been further refined as well, and in this case we spotted the new steering wheel design, the revised center console and the rear-seat infotainment system.
2013 BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible Unveiled
BMW has officially unveiled the new M6 range during the weekend with the new Coupe and Convertible scheduled to show up their faces at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Both versions extract power from the company’s 4.4-litre V8 (the same that is found in the new M5), meaning that their respective output is 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, figures which translate into performance via a seven-speed M Double Clutch transmission (M-DCT) that spins the rear wheels and an Active M Differential.
2013 BMW 640i Gran Coupe Price for US
BMW announced pricing for the 2013 640i Gran Coupe, a model that battles with other four-door coupes such as the Audi A7, Mercedes CLS and Porsche Panamera.
The 640i Grand Coupe starts at 76,895 USD, and for that amount you’ll get a TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine under the bonnet producing 315 HP at 5,800 to 6,000 rpm and 330 lb-ft of torque between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm.
Ford B-Max Shows Easy Access Door System
The Blue Oval has released a new image with their upcoming B-Max which this time showcases the small MPV’s Easy Access Door System.
The Ford B-Max which will be seen for the first time at the 82nd edition Geneva Motor Show in March, features hinged doors at the front and sliding rear door that also integrate the central body pillars, a solution described by the company as ‘game-changing’.
Toyota FT-Bh Concept Announced
Toyota announced the vehicles that are going to displayed at their stand at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Apart from the first European appearance for the GT 86 and the European premiere of the NS4 and FCV-R concepts, Toyota’s stand will also host two world premieres. We are talking about the unveiling of the production version Yaris Hybrid and the FT-Bh concept.
Smart Fortwo Sharpred
Another day, another special edition Smart Fortwo. This latest one is dubbed ‘Sharpred’ and it will be restricted to just 1,800 units, with customers being able to order the vehicle in either Coupe or Cabrio formats.
Engine choices include the company’s 70 HP (52 kW) plant and the 83 HP (62 kW) unit, and some of the features that make this car a ‘special edition’ include the two-tone colour scheme which combines the red painted tridion safety cell with the rest of the car’s exterior which is painted black, plus the 15-inch alloy wheels also featuring a brilliant black finish.
Tesla Model X Crossover Revealed
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors has unveiled the new Tesla X crossover during a small media event held at the company’s design studio in California last night.
The Tesla X represents the third model in Tesla’s lineup, and in this case we are talking about a vehicle based on the Model S platform which will also use the same batteries as the sedan, meaning the three packs with 40kWh, 60 kWh and 80kWh.
2012 Audi TT RS Plus
A more potent version Audi TT-RS was unveiled by the German car maker lust night, with this new model being called the TT-RS Plus.
Available in both Coupe and Roadster body styles, the new TT-RS Plus benefits from a 20 HP/15 Nm of torque increase, which means its total output is 360 HP and 465 NM (342.97 lb-ft) of torque.
Scheduled to go on sale in April after its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Audi TT-RS Plus will be offered with a few unique visual features, among which customers will notice the polished anthracite finish grille surrounded by the matt-aluminium-look frame, the exterior mirror casings made from carbon-fiber reinforced polymer and the 19 inch wheels painted in black and with red accents.
Toyota GT-86 Review by Chris Harris
Chris Harris, ex reviewer at EVO, currently part of the team behind YouTube’s DRIVE channel, has traveled to Spain in order to spend some time with the new Toyota GT-86.
