Skoda has had a busy month after unveiling lots of novelties for all its portfolio models. The Czech car manufacturer has prepared improvements for Fabia, Scala, Superb, Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq.

But today, we have news for all Octavia fans out there. The most beloved model in the Czech line-up will be available with a G-Tec powertrain which means you can fill it up with CNG (compressed natural gas).

The latest version of the Octavia G-Tec is equipped with a 1.5 liter turbocharged bu-fuel (petrol and CNG) that deliver 129 horsepower. Three tanks found in the underbody can store up to 17.33 kg (38 pounds) of CNG, while a 9-liter (2.3-gallon) fuel tank is there for opportunities where CNG may not be available.

According to Skoda, thanks to these tanks and thanks to a great fuel consumption, the Octavia G-Tec can travel 100 kilometers with 3.4-3.6 kg of CNG or 4.6 liters/100 in gasoline mode. As a result, the estimated range of the Octavia G-Tec is about 435 miles.

The Skoda Octavia G-Tec will be available in hatchback and wagon form and will be on sale in Europe starting this September.
