According to a recent report, the French car manufacturer Peugeot is working on a 208 GTi Pikes Peak version. The car will be developed to celebrate Sebastien Loeb’s record at the 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb competition.

The same report is suggesting that the new special edition will be based on the 208 GTi and will come with a 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol unit that was tweaked to produce an extra 20 – 30 horsepower. In these conditions, the car will offer 220 or 230 horsepower and should sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in less than seven seconds. The top speed should be clocked at more than 225 km/h.

If this doesn’t give you any emotions, the same rumors are speaking about a 208 R version. It could use the 1.6 liter THP engine that can offer 270 horsepower and 330 Nm peek of torque. Now, let’s wait a little and see what decision will take the French board.
