Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 vs Porsche 911 Turbo video
A new comparison test from MotorTrend who this time have put the 2011 Corvette ZR1 against the 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo in a quarter mile drag race.
The 2011 Corvette ZR1 weights 3329 lbs, and its front engine sends 638 HP and 604 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in the 2011 Corvette ZR1 takes 3.5 seconds
The 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo weights 3500 lbs, and its traditionally positioned rear engine sends 500 horses ans 480 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels.
2011 Ford Fiesta ST info
As the 2011 Ford Fiesta ST has recently been spied during tests at the Nurburgring, the British press has published new info regarding the new generation supermini.
The 2011 Ford Fiesta ST features an 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with EcoBoost that should develop around 200 bhp, so estimates are saying that accelerating from 0 to 60 mph should take close to 6.0-seconds while top speed is expected to be around 140 mph.
2011 Dodge Challenger info leaked
Information regarding motorisation options on the 2011 Dodge Challenger have been revealed thanks to some leaked documents that appeared online.
These documents mention that the current 3.5-litre V6 will be replaced by the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 outputting 305 HP (227 kW) and 263 Nm of ttorque (268 lb-ft), so this means a 55 HP increase.
The 5.7-litre HEMI V8 has been optimised to produce 379 HP (283 kW) and 555 Nm (410 lb-ft) of ttorque instead of 372 HP (277 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) like the ongoing version Dodge Challenger.
2011 Mercedes CLS price
After releasing the second set of photos with the company’s new 4-door coupe, the German automaker has also announced the 2011 Mercedes CLS price and confirmed the engine range for the European market.
Order books for the 2011 Mercedes CLS have already been opened, and motorisation options at launch include two V6 engines badged as the 350 BlueEFFICIENCY and the 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY.
On the 2011 Mercedes CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY the 3.5-litre V6 unit features ECO start stop technology as standard and produces 305 horsepower. As for the 2011 Mercedes CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY the V6 diesel plant output 265 horses.
2010 Volvo S60 V60 R Design
Volvo is introducing the S60 and V60 R Design enhanced versions which besides looking better than the stock models, also offer improved driving dynamics.
The Swedish company is expecting that 10 percent of S60 and V60 customers will want an R-Design version Volvo S60 V60, and market launch for these factory tuned variants will start in autumn 2010.
The 2010 Volvo S60 V60 R Design feature a glossy piano black grille, various colour matched body components and matt finish details, twin exhaust tailpipes, 18 inch 5-spoke design Diamond cut wheels and seven new colours.
MR Car Design Racing Touran
A second customisation program from MR Car Design for the VW Touran, and this time things were taken a little bit further that what we’ve seen the first time.
This second upgrade program is called the MR Car Design Racing Touran, and it consists of new side skirts (priced at 249 Euro), an SRS-tec rear apron (330 Euro), a new front spoiler (from 249 Euro) and Weitech sport chassis dynamics that carries a price tag of 749 Euro.
Porsche 911 Speedster video
The Stuttgart based car maker has also released a short video featuring the Porsche 911 Speedster in action on public roads.
Powered by the company’s 3.8-litre flat six engine, the Porsche 911 Speedster is with 23 HP above the 911 Carrera S, which means it can produce 408 HP, but at this point performance figures are unknown.
We do know that the car returns 27.43 mpg in a combined cycle (same as the 9211 Carrera S Cabrio), and also that pricing for the Porsche 911 Speedster start at a hefty 201,682 Euro.
Audi R8 GT price
The Audi R8 price for the company’s home market was just announced, as new photos and details with the most powerful version of the R8 have also been released.
Production for the Audi R8 GT will be restricted to 333 units, each powered by a modified 5.2-litre V10 with direct fuel injection that is now capable of outputting 550 HP.
Porsche 911 Speedster
The German car maker has revealed photos and details with the limited edition Porsche 911 Speedster which will be on display at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
Only 356 exemplars Porsche 911 Speedster will get assembled, and some of the features that distinguish it from the rest of the 911 models include a more raked windscreen, the ride has is now 60 mm lower, a sporty new look for the manual hood, and the double-bubble hardcover for the soft top.
2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI
Details with the sportiest version of the A1, called the 2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI have just been released.
Interestingly the range topping 2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI is not called the S1, so this might indicate there is something else planned for the S1 badge.
The 2011 Audi A1 1.4 TFSI uses a 1.4-litre turbocharged and supercharged unit delivering 185 HP (136 kW) and 250 Nm (184.39 lb-ft) of torque that helps the sporty mini accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h in 6.9 seconds.
