The all new generation Beetle is going on sale in UK, and for those of you who live there and are interested in purchasing one of these, you can place your orders starting from today, and should expect to receive your car in Spring 2012.

Available in three equipment grades and with two powering options at launch, the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle price starts at 16,490 GBP. The engines include a 105 PS 1.2-litre TSI that is matched with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and a 160 PS 1.4-litre TSI linked to a 6-speed manual.

Mitsubishi Motors has been busy working on its next generation MIVEC engine for which it developed two new fuel saving technologies. The company’s 1.8-litre gasoline engine known as the 4J10 has received a new version of the MIVEC variable valve timing system and also the latest version of their Auto Stop & Go idle stop technology.

The first model to receive the new 1.8 liter MIVEC engine in combination with Auto Stop & Go will be the on the Japan market RVR (known as the ASX or the Outlander Sport on certain markets), on which fuel consumption figures will improve by 12 percent.

Lexus announces pricing for the new F Sport grade for the CT 200h going on sale in the Great Britain. This version of the automaker’s full hybrid luxury compact comes with a larger rear spoiler, flaired side sills, a new mesh grille and aerodynamically revised bumpers plus a set of dark finish 17 inch alloys.

Starting with the visual enhancements, the estate version Mercedes C63 AMG received a modified front spoiler, a blackened out grille, sportier looking side skirts, a carbon diffuser with three vertical fins and a set of double spoke design wheels finished in black and with a chrome edge. A lowered suspension is also part of Kicherer’s upgrades for the C63 AMG Wagon, while at the interior the tuner has treated the car with fine Nappa leather and Alcantara.

Porsche has announced yesterday the fact that it will invest 500 million Euro in the Leipzig production facility in order to prepare for the upcoming Cajun.

This investment will create more than 1,000 new jobs and is marked by a 17 hectare production site which will start rolling out Cajun models in late 2013.

Wolfgang Leimgruber, Porsche Board of Management member said that “We want to expand the production of high-performance sports cars and off-road vehicles in Leipzig. At the same time the ambition is for the plant to achieve the highest standards with a forward-looking quality strategy.”

Nissan is keeping us updated on the development of the GTR powered Juke R . After their previous video in which the company talked about the challenges faces in transferring the GTR’s powertrain to the Juke, the automaker is now offering new footage that marks the fact that the actual building process has begun.

The first stage in building the Nissan Juke R is creating a roll cage inside its body shell along with the structure that will hold the 520 HP 3.8-litre V6 engine from the GTR, the drivetrain and the rest of the required systems.

Brabus’s skilled engineers have developed two new power upgrades for the AWD versions Mercedes CL 500 and S 500 4MATIC equipped with the 4.7-litre 8-cylinder twin-turbo engine rated at 435 hp (429 bhp) / 320 kW and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of peak torque as standard.

This first power upgrade is called the Brabus B50 – 490 and it consists of the tuner’s plug-and-play PowerXtra module that calibrates the engine’s electronics and optimizes the ignition, injection and the electronic boost pressure control. Thanks to this kit the 4.7-litre engine mentioned above will produce an additional 55 HP for a total of 490 hp (482 bhp) / 360 kW and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque.

Holden announced that it fully restored their first ever concept car – the 1969 Holden Hurricane. The task was completed by a dedicated group of designers and engineers, and at a first glance you might have a problem believing the fact that this car has first been seen no less than 42 years ago.

At that time the Hurricane was described as an experiment “to study design trend, propulsion systems and other long-range developments”, and apart from its futuristic shape the car was also packed with innovative features such as electronic digital instrument displays, station-seeking radio, automatic temperature control air conditioning, rear-vision camera and an automated route finder.
