Motor Trend have compared two of the longest surviving name plates in the automotive history: the Chevrolet Corvette and the Porsche 911.
To be more exact, the models which you will see in the video below are the 2012 Corvette Grand Sport and the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S. There are many features that differentiate these two cars, like the size and position of the engine for example, but here are also quite a few similarities between them.
Here are some referring to each:
The Grand Sport uses a 6.2-litre 16-valve V8 to produce 436 HP and 428 lb-ft of torque via 6-speed manual transmission. The car weights 3375 lbs and its base price tag is 56,900 USD (72,130 USD as tested).
The 911 Carrera S extracts its power from a 3.8-litre 24-valve 6-cylinder unit rated at 400 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque. Its rear wheels are spun by a 7-speed twin-clutch gearbox and its total weight is 3,254 lbs. Pricing in this case tarts at 97,350 USD, but the car seen in this comparison costs 131,760 USD.
