A few months ago, BMW unveiled the new X1 model. During the presentation, the German officials told us that the X1 will be available with a plug-in hybrid version.

Now, BMW said that the new X2 will also be available as a plug-in hybrid variant. As you can imagine, the SUV will come with the same powertrain installed in the X1.

The car is named BMW X2 xDrive25e has a 1.5 liter petrol unit with 125 horsepower and a 95 horsepower electric motor. In total, the car deliver 220 horsepower and 385 Nm peak of torque.

The engine resources are sent to the ground via a six speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. Thanks to a 10 kWh battery pack, the car is able to travel on electricity alone up to 57 kilometers.

The X2 xDrive25e can run from not to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 195 km/h.
