The new generation Volkswagen Golf was unveiled a few months ago. During the presentation, the officials announced that the new Golf will get performance versions.
Now we have some informations about the upcoming Golf GTI, GTI TCR and R variants.
According to some rumors, the new Volkswagen Golf GTI will come with a 2.0 liter petrol engine and a 48V mild-hybrid system. The unit will deliver 235 horsepower and it will be available with a six speed manual transmission or a seven speed dual-clutch automatic.
The Golf GTI TCR will come with the same package but this time it will deliver 290 horsepower and 273 pound-feet. The car will also come with a limited-slip differential, larger brakes and bigger wheels.
Last and the most impressive one will be the Golf R. It will feature a 2.0 liter unit with 48V mild-hybrid with an electric compressor. The new Golf R will deliver 330 horsepower and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The car will come with an all-wheel drive system.
