First shown in 2018 as a concept car, the Renault Arkana is now a production model for the European market. The Arkana was available for the Russian market, but now we can have it in the rest of Europe.

Basically, the car is the same as one we have seen in Russia, but it features some minor exterior tweaks in order to be homologated for the UE markets. Inside the cabin there is a new infotainment system that has a table-style screen and also a fully digital instrument cluster in 4.2, 7 or 10.2 inch variants.

But more important is that Arkana will be available only in hybrid and mild-hybrid variants. The 1.3 liter will deliver 140 HP and 160 HP with a 48V mild-hybrid while the hybbrid variant will be an E-Tech Hybrid. We don’t know if it will be a plug-in hybrid or a conventional full-hybrid version, but we know that Clio and Captur are already competing in this part of the market with eco engines.

“Arkana is another example of how modernity and innovation are rooted in Renault’s DNA. It is a hybrid on all levels, and perfectly blends the codes of the coupe and the SUV, combining responsiveness with versatility. It brings a fresh impetus to the mainstream compact SUV segment which is core to the European market”, said François Laurent, Arkana Program Director, comments.
