This year, the French manufacturer Renault has presented the Alpine concept. A few months ago, Renault teamed up with the Brits from Caterham to create a production version of its legend.

According to Stephen Norman, Renault’s marketing chief, the French carmaker will launch the new Alpine before the end of the 2015. The French official also said that the new Alpine will not be a soft car, but it won’t be more hardcore than a Mazda MX-5.

He added that it will be light and look different, emphasizing French DNA and technical innovations.

The technical data are not official, but there are a few rumors who can confirm that Renault will use the same petrol engine available on the Megane RS. We are talking about a 2.0 liter engine that can develop 265 hp. The Caterham version is expected to feature a Clio RS unit that can deliver 200 hp.
