Volkswagen wants to have one of the most connected cars in the world so it constantly updates its Car-Net Mobile app, available on almost every car in the range. The latest updates are available only in the USA and include Curfew Alert and Valet Alert, to notify owners if their vehicles are driven without permission, and Parking Information, powered by Parkopedia, to help owners easily locate off-street parking.
Volkswagen Chattanooga plant reaches milestone
Volkswagen is building lots of its cars in the US and the Chattanooga plant is the main assembly across the Ocean. No wonder the plant recently reached a new milestone. VW announced that it has achieved a production milestone with the completion of the 700,000th Volkswagen Passat assembled in Chattanooga.
Subaru Ascent production started in Indiana
Subaru has a strong presence in the US so it had to build a factory across the Ocean to supply the request coming from its biggest market. The most recent car to be produced in the US is the Subaru Ascent, a new three-row SUV that will seat up to eight passengers, began at Subaru’s Lafayette, Indiana plant yesterday. The addition of the vehicle to the production mix signifies the addition of approximately 200 jobs and $140 million in equipment and expansion investments.
