The Japanese manufacturer previewed its all electric Nissan Tiida prototype today demonstrating the company’s new EV-IT system developed to support electric driving 24/7. The Nissan Tiida all electric car prototype features an electric motor that generates 80 kW and 280 Nm of torque and a 23kWh lithium-ion battery pack placed under the vehicle floor. With this hybrid powering system the car can cover as much as 160 Km when starting on a fully charged battery. The Alfa Romeo Brera Italia Independent edition was just unveiled by the Italian automaker and the car will be available only in Europe, Japan and Australia. Future customers should know the Alfa Romeo Brera Italia Independent edition comes with two engine options, and these are a 2.2 JTS units that outputs 185 HP or a 3.2-litre V6 that is good for 260 HP. Produced in a limited series of only 500 units the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine that can put 450 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque to the ground through a 6-speed F1 style gearbox. The German car maker is extending its environmentally friendly vehicle lineup with five new models which are the Opel Corsa, Meriva, Astra station wagon and Zafira LPG. Featuring an aditional LPG tank each of these models will offer their customers the ability to choose from Liquefied Petroleum Gas or gasoline, increasing the vehicle’s operating range when both tanks are used. The Opel Astra LPG station wagon can cover as much as 1,300 Km without refueling when it operates using both tanks and when using only LPG the total CO2 emissions are lower with 10 to 13 percent. Motorsport fans had a chance to attend at two racing events in UK over the weekend, which involved Abarth models competing in the Abarth 500 European series and the BARC Hillclimb Championship at Gurston Down. British driver Adam Jones racing in the Abarth 500 European series managed to obtain two wins on the Brands Hatch track in Kent and the average speed at which the little cars competed was of 130 Km/h (80 mph). The following video presents the Ford Fiesta RallyCross racing at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb edition 2009. This particular Ford Fiesta RallyCross car is driven by two times world champion Marcus Gronholm who managed to get the 800 HP little monster to the peak in 11 minutes and 29 seconds. He wasn’t the fastest this year as Nobuhiro Tajima covered the hill climb in hes 870 HP Suzuki SX4 in 10 minutes 15 seconds but don’t expect the video shot from both inside and outside Gronholm’s car to be less then awesome. The US automaker announced that their factory customized Ford Mustang AV-X10 aka Dearborn Doll will be auctioned during the EAA 2009 AirVenture Oshkosh in Wisconsin on July 30. As Ford explains the AV-X10 name represents the latest AirVenture Xperimental project which is based on a 2010 Mustang model also pointing to the 10-millionth engine assambled at the Romeo Engine Plant. In this video the crew from iMotorMag tested the Nissan GT-R vs the Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-400. Both Japanese models were engaged in a 0 to 100 mph and then back to 0 acceleration, a handling stage as well as test that involved measuring the G-force, in other words to see which model is quicker through the corners.

The Nissan GT-R specs indicate the car can develop 485 hp and 434 Nm of torque from its twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine, making it sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 193 mph.

As for the Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-400, the turbocharged 2.0-litre MIVEC unit from under the hood spits out 403 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque that translate into a 3.8 seconds 0 to 60 mph acceleration time and a limited top speed of 155 mph.
