Mitsubishi i-MiEV UK Price
The Mitsubishi i-MiEV UK price and specs have just been revealed today with the first customer deliveries scheduled for January 1st 2011.
Powering the Mitsubishi i-MiEV is a system composed from an 47 kW electric motor linked to a single-speed transmission plus two charging units that take up to 6 hours to recharge and a rapid charging system that regains 80 percent of its capacity in around 30 minutes.
With its ultra running costs, Mitsubishi i-MiEV owners will spend approximately 0.96 GBP for a full recharge, which is the equivalent of 115 GBP for driving 12,000 miles.
Video Campaign: Always Wear Your Seat Belt
The following video is part of a new campaign called ‘Embrace Life’ that is encouraging drivers to always wear their seat belt when behind the wheel and not only.
As with many campaigns that try to enforce a certain behavior among vehicle occupants, this footage is reminding that a small gesture like wearing the seat belt could prevent great losses not only to those inside the car when a tragedy occurs, but also to family members at home.
2011 Mercedes SLS GT3
The crew from Autocar managed to get its hands on the first photos with the 2011 Mercedes SLS GT3. So far the only known technical details mention that the 2011 Mercedes SLS GT3 will be fitted with a V8 engine that is expected to develop 600 BHP and a weight saving program will also be applied.
Customers will be able to race their 2011 Mercedes SLS GT3 in next year’s season and at this point we can only speculate if it’s price will be somewhere around the cost of a BMW Z4 GT3 which is 300,000 Euro.
Goodwood Festival 2010 Teaser with Bike Tricks
We usually present review videos and comparison tests done by Autocar, but this time we were surprised to see this great footage teasing the Goodwood Festival 2010 through a series of awesome bike tricks done by Dougie Lampkin.
Dougie Lampkin is an English trial bike rider with outstanding national and international results out of witch we could mention the five consecutive World Indoor titles won between 1997 and 2001 or the seven consecutive World Outdoor Championship titles achieved from 1997 until 2003.
Ferrari 458 Italia Autobot in Transformers 3
Director Michael Bay announced at a fund raising charity event this week that the newest Autobot to join Transformers in the Transformers 3 sequel will be the Ferrari 458 Italia.
There is still plenty of time until we will actually see the Ferrari 458 Italia Autobot in Transformers 3 as the movie will play in theaters starting from 2011, July 1st, and as of right now the directing crew announced they will begin pre-shooting scenes in about a month.
2011 Subaru Impreza WRX
The new 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX was presented today in New York, and just like the company’s top ranging WRX STI model the new Impreza will now feature a wide body design offering a more aggressive look. The wider body also allows wider track dimensions, (an extra 1.5-inch front and rear) plus the wider 17 x 8-inch wheels wrapped in 235/45R17 tires give the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX an increased level of stability.
2012 Fiat 500EV
Chrysler has just announced it’s plans to produce the pure electric version Fiat 500EV which will be based on the Fiat 500 platform in 2012.
The Fiat 500EV was showcased at the 2010 NAIAS earlier this year and Chrysler’s Senior Vice President Engineering said ‘The Fiat 500 is a small, lightweight platform perfect for integrating electric-vehicle technology.’
As far as propulsion the 2012 Fiat 500EV will use a high power electric powertrain module backed by an advance Lithium-Ion battery pack and an EV module that will manage the flow of energy.
2010 Chevrolet Cruze BTCC
Details with the 2010 Chevrolet Cruze entering the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) have just been revealed. The two 2010 Chevrolet Cruze cars that will compete in the BTCC are prepared by RML and will get driven by former champion and Fifth Gear’s co-host Jason Plato and 19-year oldAlex MacDowall.
The first race for the 2010 Chevrolet Cruze BTCC cars will take place on April 4th at Thruxton, Hants and Plato said “We are very motivated to make this our year, the opposition had better be ready…”
H&R Citroen DS3
A new vehicle approached by suspension specialists from H&R, is the 4-door version Citroen DS3.
The H&R Citroen DS3 received a set of sports suspension springs that lower the vehicle’s height by around 40 mm and as a result the car’s driving dynamics are improved as well as exterior appearance by making the French small car look a bit sportier.
Besides the new suspension components the H&R Citroen DS3 received the TRAK+ Wheel Spacers made from aluminium which perfect the gap between the wheel arch and the edge of the car’s wing.
Maserati GranCabrio for Fernando Alonso
Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso, winner in the first race of this year’s F1 Season in Bahrain, has just bought a Maserati GranCabrio for his personal use.
He chose a ‘granite grey’ coloured Maserati GranCabrio with a Pearl Beige and Bordeaux leather interior, while the car’s soft top will match the interior shade.
Under the bonnet the 4.7-litre V8 unit powering Fernando Alonso’s Maserati GranCabrio is linked to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission and will develop 440 horsepower.
