2012 BMW Alpina B6 Biturbo Cabrio
The 2012 BMW Alpina B6 Biturbo Cabrio has premiered in Frankfurt this year, and as always the German tuner has once again succeeded in discreetly taking the luxury and performance levels offered by the production model to the next stage.
Powered by an all-aluminium V8 featuring two turbochargers working in parallel, the 2012 BMW Alpina B6 Biturbo Cabrio produces 507 HP (373 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 4,750 rpm.

Rimac Concept One Supercar
The Croatians from Rimac Automobili have entered the supercar scene with something that looks rather impressive.
Badges as the Rimac Concept One this is no ordinary supercar either, due to the fact that its propulsion system (divided into for sub-systems) is composed from a 92 kWh battery pack and four electric motors, plus an inverter and a reduction gearbox. The system generates a combined 1088 HP, and each sub-system drives one wheel. It is what Rimac calls the All Wheel Torque Vectoring.

2012 Mercedes B Class Price
Daimler has just just announced pricing for the second generation B Class. The car comes with completely new 4-cylinder petrol and diesels units featuring direct fuel injection and turbocharging, new dual clutch and manual transmissions plus ten new assistance systems for the driver.
Starting with the engine range, the base model (the B180 BlueEFFICIENCY) will be offered with a 1.6-litre petrol rated at 122 HP (90 kW) while the second petrol model (the B200 BlueEFFICIENCY) will feature an identical engine in terms of capacity, but rated at 156 HP (115 kW). Both the B180 and B200 version 2012 Mercedes B Class come with a 6-speed mechanical gearbox, and their corresponding efficiency figures are 5.9 litres per 100 km (137 and 138 g CO2/km respectively).

TopCar 2012 Porsche 911 991
Russian tuner TopCar is offering a preview of their upcoming tuning program involving the new generation 2011 Porsche 911 (also known as the 991) currently on display at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
These initial renderings show that the 2012 Porsche 911 991 will get a wide body conversion with some of the custom parts including a new front spoiler that integrates LED strips, a spoiler lip, a new bonnet, new fenders and side sills, as well as an aggressive looking rear bumper which integrates the diffuser.

Volkswagen Caddy Edition 30
Volkswagen’s Commercial Vehicles division is showcasing a special edition Caddy at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt.
The model is called the Volkswagen Caddy Edition 30, and comes ahead of the Caddy’s 30th anniversary from next year. On the list of special features for this model the automaker has added a gloss black roof, 17 inch machine polished alloys and special badges on the sliding doors, at the back of the car and on the door sills.

2012 Lotus Elise S
More news from Lotus who also unveiled the 2012 Elise S last night in Frankfurt. They say the 2012 Lotus Elise S is “ALL Torque and ALL Action” and to back-up their claim the company said the car is equipped with a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder DOCH engine featuring Variable Valve Timing which produces 220 PS (162 kW – 217 HP) at 6,800 rpm and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft)at 4,600 tpm.
This new lightweight 2-seater mid engine sportscar is now also available with the SPS (Serial Precision Shift) option, a new gearbox which only suitable to the 1.6l Elise which uses a new lightweight robotised automated manual transmission technology that allows the driver to switch between manual and automatic driving modes through the steering wheel paddles.

Lotus Evora GTE
Lotus is showcasing their most powerful road car built so far, at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. We’re talking about the Lotus Evora GTE which delivers 444 PS at 7,000 rpm and 420 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm from its supercharged 3.5-litre V6 featuring Dual-Variable Valve Timing.
The Lotus Evora GTE was initially created as a special edition for the Asian market, but due to increased customer interest(114 orders received in China in only a few days), the automaker has decided to increase production and deliver the car to other markets as well.

Lotus Exige R-GT
Apart from the road going Exige, the Brits from Lotus have also brought the Exige R-GT in Frankfurt.
The Lotus Exige R-GT is the car with which the automaker wants to get back to rallying, more than 30 years after it achieved the World Rally Championship victory in a Talbot Sumbeam.
Group Lotus’ Director of Motorsport Claudio Berro said that “With the new R-GT rules in rally, it’s a very interesting time for us to return to the sport. Naturally our approach this time around will be different to when we won the championship with Talbot three decades ago but I think our philosophy is definitely the same, we want to compete and ultimately we want to win. Our new rally car, the Exige R-GT is a dream come true for those who are passionate about GT racing – this will be their car.”

Fisker Surf Shooting Brake
Fisker has unveiled their previously teased shooting brake concept in Frankfurt today. The car is called the Fisker Surf and it represents the company’s second model after the Karma.

SsangYong SUT 1 Production Version
SsangYong has introduced the production version SUT 1 in Frankfurt today, a new pickup based on the Concept that was unveiled in Geneva back in February.
In terms of design the car remains close to the concept, although many of the features like the headlamps, taillights, grille and bumpers do not look as dynamic as before.
The SsangYong SUT 1 production version comes with Euro 5 compliant 2.0-litre Diesel engine under its bonnet capable of delivering 155 PS and 360 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,800 rpm. The car is available with RWD traction of part-time 4WD, with transmission choices that include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
