Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder
Lamborghini decided to improve on a formula that has already proved very successful for them, by combining a spyder body style with the unique characteristics of a rear wheel drive sports car.
You probably guessed by now that we’re talking about the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder which can been seen in the flesh these day at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Porsche Panamera GTS Revealed
The Stuttgart based automaker has revealed the new Porsche Panamera GTS at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
As the three letters indicate, this new Panamera version is a Sports Gran Turismo, which comes with a set of upgraded brakes, a lowered ride height (-10 mm), a specially tuned chassis connected to an air suspension and Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system (PASM).
2013 Lincoln MKT Crossover Shows its New Face in Los Angeles
A second new model from Lincoln which premiered in Los Angeles is the latest generation 2013 MKT crossover.
Just like the MKS the new MKT features revised styling, new engines (which are more powerful yet more efficient), improved handling and new safety technologies.
The engines are a 3.7-litre V6 which sends 300 HP and 275 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels, and a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 which feeds 300 HP 350 lb-ft of torque to an AWD drivetrain. Both these engines are mated with 6-speed automatic transmission and return fuel consumptions figures of 17/25 mpg and 16/22 mpg respectively (city/highway).
2013 Lincoln MKS Unveiled in Los Angeles
The 2013 Lincoln MKS has been unveiled last night in Los Angeles, and the automaker says this new generation has been improved in pretty much every way possible, considering it is more powerful, it has better handling, it consumes less fuel and is offered with more standard equipment.
Starting with the engines, the 2013 Lincoln MKS is going to be available with either a 3.7-litre V6 rated at 300 HP and 275 lb-ft or a more powerful 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 delivering 355 horses and 350 lb-ft of torque.
2012 Hyundai Azera Sedan
Hyundai is becoming more and more competitive in the premium segment, and their newest addition to the range, the 2012 Azera trying to convince customers that it represents the better value if compared to rivals such as the Buick LaCrosse, Lexus ES 350 or Acura TL.
This new generation 2012 Hyundai Azera which is known as the Grandeur in Korea, will be showcased starting from today at the 2011 Los Angeles Motor Show, and its North American market debut is expected to take place early next year.
Subaru BRZ STI Unveiled in LA
Subaru has pulled the wraps off the BRZ Concept STI today in Los Angeles, the automaker’s all-new rear-wheel drive compact sports car born from a joint collaboration between them and Toyota.
The car makes use of the the automaker’s Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine and promises to be a ‘Pure Handling Delight’, as it features a low centre of gravity (120 mm lower than other Subaru models), is fitted with numerous components made from carbon fiber (such as the roof), meaning it is light but also highly rigid, and is also equipped with an STI tuned suspension, 18 inch lightweight alloys and Brembo brakes.
Hamann CYRANO Porsche Panamera
Hamann is presenting a new customisation program for the Porsche Panamera, with this one being called the Cyrano.
So lets start with the list of exterior accessories and enhancements which besides making the car look sportier and more unique, also help in terms of aerodynamics.
Apart from sitting on a set of 22 inch forged ‘Gunmetal’ wheels wrapped in 265/30 ZR 22 and 305/25 ZR 22 tires, the Hamann CYRANO Porsche Panamera features a pair of modified bumpers, which at the front include larger air intakes with integrated daytime running lights while at the rear include a special diffuser that helps reduce the up-lift on the rear axle.
2012 Fiat 500 Abarth – Photos and Details
Abarth has unveiled their new pocket rocket today in the city and Angels, with this new version being based on the US spec 2012 Fiat 500.
The 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth has went trough an extensive number of changes with the most important ones being targeted towards the 1.4-litre naturally aspirated MultiAir engine which has been turbocharged and twin-intercooled and it now delivers around 59 percent more power.
2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype
GM has published photos with their new 2012 Corvette Daytona Prototype which was unveiled at the Daytona International Speedway circuit today in Florida.
This new prototype will have its racing debut on January 26-29, 2012 at the GRAND-AM Road Racing Series Rolex 24 at Daytona, and unfortunately right now there are no technical features we can discuss due to the fact that GM decided to keep things secret a little longer.
Video: Nissan Juke R Body Styling Detailed
The 7th video detailing the development process of the Nissan Juke R is now available online, and this time we get to see the company’s engineers talk about how they tried to reflect the sporty characteristics of their GT-R powered crossover through numerous parts made from carbon fiber.
Some of the techniques that have been applied during the body styling process included scanning the car and re-styling its side skirts, wheel arches and bumpers. Everything started with a set of 2D sketches that were modeled in a 3D environment, and which served as the basis for the actual molds that were used to created the carbon fiber body parts.
