2013 Mercedes G63 AMG and G65 AMG Officiall Details
As the 2012 Beijing Auto Show is right around the corner, Daimler has decided to make things official and release photos and details regarding the 2013 Mercedes G63 AMG and G65 AMG models ahead of their public premiere.
The new G63 comes with a few noticeable design upgrades, such as an aggressive looking front bumper, a new grille, newly designed alloy wheels and a side mounted exhaust, and also “a raft of future-oriented systems” such as spray-controlled petrol direct injection, the ECO start/stop function and generator management.
Audi Acquires Motorcycle Manufacturer Ducati
Audi AG has officially announced the fact that they will acquire sports motorcycle manufacturer Ducati from Investindustrial Group.
Once authorized by the competition authorities, the transaction will be completed as quickly as possible, although Audi has not mentioned an official figure yet. According to previous reports, the four ring automaker has paid approximately 1.13 billion USD for Ducati, with the Italian company representing a third pillar for Audi in Northern Italy alongside other Italian brands such as Lamborghini and Italdesign.
Mercedes Concept Style Coupe Officially Revealed
Mercedes Benz has pulled the wraps off the Concept Style Coupe ahead of its world premiere at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show.
Characterised as a sporty executive coupe with an avantgarde style the Style Coupe is basically a smaller CLS that adopts the CLS styling at the rear but resembles more with the new A Class at the front, a car which just like the above mentioned models, draws inspiration from the F800 Concept.
2013 Fiat Viaggio Teased Ahead of Beijing Auto Show
Fiat has recently released a couple of teaser images with the Dodge Dart based Viaggio sedan.
This new model, which will be unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show next week, uses the CUSW (Compact US Wide) architecture that was originally developed for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and its role is to introduce Fiat’s “technological know-how, design and refinement to the biggest selling segment in China.”
Audi RS Q3 Concept Preview
Audi will bring the RS Q3 Concept at this 2012 Beijing Motor Show next week, a vehicle based on the Q3 that previews a high-performance production model.
The Audi RS Q3 Concept uses a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder TFSI engine which combines direct injection with turbocharging and produces 360 HP (265 kW). This engine is linked to the car’s permanent all-wheel drive system via a 7-speed S tronic transmission which redistribute forces to the rear axle via a hydraulic multi-plate clutch when slip is detected.
2013 Dodge Dart Priced from 15995 USD
Dodge has recently put a price tag on the 2013 Dart sedan.
Available in five different flavors – SE, SXT, Rallye, Limited and R/T, the 2013 Dodge Dart start at 15,995 USD in the US, with some of the standard features including 10 airbags, four wheel disc anti-lock brakes, brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, electric windows and a CD/MP3 player.
The range opening SE version is fitted with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine rated at 160 HP and 148 lb-ft of torque, and as we move up we get to the SXT trim which can also be ordered with a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged unit producing 160 HP and 184 lb-ft of torque.
MG Icon SUV Sketches
The Brits from Autocar have published a set of official sketches with the upcoming MG Icon Concept.
This new compact SUV is expected to be unveiled at the Bijing Motor Show next week, and according to the same source, it previews a production model that will be launched in China in 2014.
Comparable in size with the Nissan Juke, the five-door Icon Concept draws inspiration from the original MGB GT in terms of styling, but its platform comes from the current MG 5 and Roewe 350 that are sold in China.
Kicherer 2012 Mercedes ML
Kicherer are among the first to offer an aftermarket treatment for the new 2012 Mercedes ML.
Developed by the company’s technicians and designers in Stockach, this wide body design program is called ‘IMPACT’ and it includes custom bumpers which also incorporate LED daytime running lights at the front, wider wheel arches and new side skirts.
2014 Mercedes Citan Van Unveiled
Mercedes has unveiled the new Renault Kangoo based Citan van, a vehicle which represents the fruit of a collaboration between Daimler and Renault Nissan.
This new van will appear in the flesh at the 2013 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover in September, while production is going to take place at Renault’s Maubeuge factory in France, the same place where the Kangoo model is being assembled.
BMW 1M Coupe with 521 HP by Tuningwerk
TUNINGWERK is a German company that has its main office in Munich and specializes in BMW models.
Their latest project is based on the well acknowledged 1M Coupe, but TUNINGWERK refers to i as the 1st M RS, mostly due to its race car livery but also due to the impressive amount of horsepower it can deliver.
The car features an engine that was completely modified, a shortened transmission (3.25 transmission ratios, optionally 3.45 are also possible), a new differential lock suitable for the new power to weight ratio, a new cooling system and a sports exhaust system.
