The FIA GT1 promoters (SRO) announced that Nissan will become the Official Car Supplier for the GT1 World Championship 2010 season, with a further extension for 2011 also possible.
The Japanese manufacturer will supply four cars to SRO Motorsports Group per event, and one of their high-performance cars to become the Official Safety Car at each event.
This year will be the inaugural season for the FIA GT1 World Championship which will take place on tracks in 10 countries and will feature marques like the Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford, Lamborghini, Maserati and Nissan.
The opening race will take place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on April 17 and the season will end on December 5 in Argentina on the San Luis circuit, which is around a volcanic lake.
