In 2015 BMW has unveiled the 2015 Compact Sedan Concept at the Guangzhou Auto Show. After less than one year, the German car manufacturer has revealed the production version of that concept. Named BMW 1 Series Sedan, the model was designed only for the China market and will compete against the Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi A3 Sedan.

More than that, the BMW 1 Series Sedan will be built in the People’s Republic by the company’s local joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive. The car was specifically tailored for the China market and, unfortunately we have no technical details.

The BMW 1 Series Sedan is built on the same UKL platform, the same architecture that is under the 2 Series Active Tourer & Gran Tourer. We are talking about a front-wheel drive layout which will be powered by three- and four-cylinder engines, all turbocharged.
