Nissan has officially revealed today the brand-new 2014 Pulsar five-door hatchback. The new Japanese model is set to compete against the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf and is coming with a familiar front fascia which is obviously derived from the X-Trail and Qashqai. 

The 2014 Nissan Pulsar features a 2,700 mm wheelbase and has an overall length of 4,385 mm. According to the Japanese officials, the 2014 Pulsar will provide the best rear legroom and shoulder room in its class. 

Under the hood, the 2014 Nissan Pulsar is featuring a 1.2 liter DIG-T petrol unit whic can deliver 115 horsepower. In early 2015, Nissan will offer a more powerful 1.6 liter unit which can deliver 190 horsepower.

Upon launch, the 2014 Nissan Pulsar will also come with the frugal 1.5 liter dCi diesel engine rated at 110 horsepower and 260 Nm peak of torque. All these engines will work in standard with a six speed manual transmission, but on the option list, buyers will find a CVT. 

The 2014 Nissan Pulsar will come with a generous list of safety and assistance systems such as blind spot warning, lane departure warning, moving object detection and forward emergency braking. 

In addition, the 2014 Nissan Pulsar will come with the second generation NissanConnect system offering smartphone integration and access to a wide variety of apps.
