Land Rover will offer its drivers a digital vision of the terrain ahead by using magic. In other words, they will make the front of the car invisible.

The magic system uses cameras located in the vehicle’s grille to capture data used to feed a Head-Up Display, effectively creating a ‘see-through’ view of the terrain through the bonnet and engine bay. Land Rover named this technology Transparent Bonnet.

The technology will help the driver  to see an augmented reality view when climbing a steep incline or manoeuvring in a confined space. The image is capturing not only the terrain in front of the car but also the angle and position of the front wheels.
