The new generation Volkswagen Golf has been on the market for some good months, but the family is still not complete. Recently, the German car manufacturer unveiled the Golf GTI Clubsport, which is, until now, the most powerful variant of the compact hatchback.

Just like the Golf GTI, the new Clubsport uses a 2.0 liter petrol unit but this time, the engine delivers 300 horsepower and 400 Nm peak of torque. The unit resources are sent to the ground via a seven speed automatic transmission and, to improve the dynamic characteristics, the car has a variable-locking front differential controlled by the upgraded Vehicle Dynamics Manager.

The new Golf GTI Clubsport can run from not to 100 km/h in less than six seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Also, the new Hot Hatch comes with a special driving mode. It really is called Special and it can be found under the Sport branch. According to the German car manufacturer, this driving mode was developed especially for the mighty Nurburgring. So if you are going to the famous German race track, don’t use the Sport mode. Instead, use this special mode to achieve your best time.
