Even if it is not as powerful as the Opel Astra OPC or Renault Megane RS, the sporty Golf can be a hot-hatch with a nice feel at the wheel.
On paper, the car is not so impressive, with a 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, but in real life things do improve.
