The current Volkswagen ID family – the electric lineup of the German manufacturer – uses lots of recycled plastics for the interior accessories. But now, the German officials have announced that the upcoming models will use even more recycled materials.

Ford exemple, materials made of ocean plastic or old PET bottles will be used for different surfaces inside the car, while the outer sear cover textile is made of something called Seaqual yarn, comprised of 10 percent collected marine debris.

According to VW, these solutions will save more than 30% of CO2 emissions compared to tranditional materials used until now.
