Journalists from AutoExpress have shot a review video putting the Toyota Auris Hybrid to the test as they wanted to see if the official factory figures are the same with what an regular user would average.

Toyota claims that their Auris Hybrid powered by the 1.8-litre VVT-i petrol unit combined with an electric motor deliver 134 bhp and is able to return 74 mpg/UK rating with CO2 emissions of no more than 93 grams per Km.

To our surprise, when driven in Eco mode, the Toyota Auris Hybrid was able to return even better consumption figures than what Toyota claimed, and that was of around 83 mpg.

If your thinking that is great news, their is also a bad part, which is the fact that the Toyota Aurid Hybrid is kind of expensive, as it starts at close to 19,000 GBP, which is only 5,000 GBP cheaper than the Prius.
