BMW has prepared a big surprise for the amateur racing drivers: this is the 2021 M2 CS Racing. Built on the same underpinings as the all-new M2 Club Sport, the model will act as an entry-level in the racing business.

“Our expertise meets halfway between high-performance cars for the road and pedigree racing cars, namely in the growing club racing sector,” said Markus Flasch, president of BMW M GmbH.

The new BMW M2 CS Racing is available from 95,000 euros without taxes and it features the same engine as the street model. This means that under the hood is the S55 3.0 liter engine which now can deliver between 280 and 365 horsepower.

Yes, it is underpowered compared to the street car but these are the regulations that BMW had to comply with. The engine resources are sent to the ground via a seven speed automatic transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
