Porsche will attack this year’s Nurburgring’s 24h endurance race with a new version of their 911 GT3 Hybrid, which besides producing more power is also 20 percent lighter and requires less fuel.

This new version is called the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid 2.0 and its powering system composed from a 4.0-litre 6-cylinder boxer engine at the rear and two electric motors driving the front wheels can now produce a total of 670 HP.

As the Geneva Motor Show has officially opened its doors to members of the press, Subaru released more details regarding the BOXER Sports Car Architecture which against all odds points at the automaker’s upcoming rear wheel drive sports car that will extract power from a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine.

This future model is part of Subaru’s collaboration with Toyota, and the idea of a front engine and RDW layout should not come as a surprise, as it has already been used in the Subaru P-1, the company’s first prototype passenger car.

BMW has just released details regarding the new 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine for the X1 xDrive28i. This new model which comes to replace the automaker’s naturally aspirated 3.0-litre 6-cylinder unit will be presented at Geneva Motor Show in March, and will hit the European market shortly after that.

Thanks to this new 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol plant, the BMW X1 xDrive28i will be able to generate 245 HP @ 5000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque (258 lb-ft) @ 1250 rpm, while in terms of transmission choices, a 6-speed manual is offered as standard while an 8speed automatic is available as an option.

Superchips is announcing a new performance ECU remap, this time available for the Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi, which can also be applied to the latest versions Ford Galaxy, Mondeo and S-Max.

The Superchips Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi increases power coming from the 1995cc 16-valve turbo diesel engine, which packs 163 PS as standard, by 22 bhp @ 3,301 rpm and 89 Nm (65 lb-ft) of torque. This power upgrade was made by optimizing the car’s Delphi DCM3.5 ECU, and as the tuner says, fuel consumption may even decrease, due to the extra low rev torque available to the driver.

Unichip has launched a performance upgrade kit for the VW Passat 2.0 TDi 140 which can also be applied to models like the Golf, Jetta, and Touran, for increased power at an affordable price.

The ECU remapping through this U-connect plug and play installation enables the Unichip VW Passat 2.0 TDi 140 to develop and additional 19 bhp and24 lb-ft of torque, which means total output is now 163 bhp @ 3,330 rpm.

The Unichip VW Passat 2.0 TDi 140 has no electronic footprint, is reversible and it tamperproof as it can only be installed ot one of Europe’s 35 Unichip dealers.
