Seat announced that Austrian long-haul specialist Gerhard Plattner managed to set a world record regarding fuel economy after driving the Seat Ibiza ECOMOTIVE across Spain, France and Germany on a single tank of fuel. The total distance covered by the Seat Ibiza ECOMOTIVE was 1,562 Km with just 45.53 litres of fuel wasted, resulting in an average consumption figure of 2.9 l/100 Km, once again proving that the vehicle is one of the cleanest cars on the market today.
Powering the Seat Ibiza Ecomotive is a 1.4-litre TDI engine that outputs 80 horsepower with an announced 3.7 l/100 km fuel economy and 98 g/km CO2 emissions plus what makes it even more impressive is that it is the only model on the market today that comes with air-conditioning, a five-door body style and such a low emissions level.
