2012 Subaru XV Crossover Teased
The 64th edition Frankfurt Motor Show will host the premiere of the new Subaru SV, but until the show will open its doors to visitors, the Japanese automaker is teasing us with a sketched image that partially shows the upcoming crossover’s front section.
The 2012 Subaru XV which will be badged as the Impreza Outback in the United States, extracts its design cues from the XV Concept unveiled in Shanghai in April, a vehicle that was “favourably received globally thanks to its distinctive and trendy design which blend a crossover-like commanding silhouette and an urban friendly image into one harmonious and elegant package.”
Audi Urban Concept Preview
Audi is offering a preview with one of the main highlights scheduled to premiere at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt next month.
The German automaker calls it the Audi Urban Concept and it represents a 1+1 seater with a sleek cockpit made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic, free standing 21 inch wheels with protective plates, an elaborate suspension and an electric drive system.
2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson
Ford is introducing the 2012 F150 Harley Davidson pickup truck, a new generation model which comes with various design enhancements, snakeskin leather interior accents and custom bodyside graphics.
Available with a new exterior colour (White Platinum Tri-Coat) the 2012 Ford F150 Harley Davidson sits on 22 inch machined aluminium wheels, and features a billet style bright chrome grille, a fully integrated deployable running board and standard equipment that includes a power sunroof, a 4.2 inch productivity screen and a Remote Start System.
2012 Toyota Avensis Facelift
A photo with the facelift version 2012 Toyota Avensis has appeared online, after the mid-size sedan was spotted without camouflage near Cannes.
The upcoming model features a slightly revised front fascia which borrows elements from the new Yaris and the FT-86, as well as new alloys and mildly redesigned tail lamps. The 2012 Toyota Avensis will also come with a new rear bumper, while the interior will most likely remain untouched.
Ford Fiesta Centura
Ford is celebrating 100 years of success in Britain with a special edition model called the Fiesta Centura.
The car is only available with a black body finish, and apart from the LED daytime running lights it also comes with chrome mirrors and door caps, 16 inch 7-spoke design alloy wheels, automatic headlamps and swipers, rear parking sensors and a parking camera.
Video: 2012 Porsche 911 Undisguised
The latest undisguised 2012 Porsche 911 that was recently spied in Germany is a brown prototype which made a brief stop at a gas station.
Apart from the revamped headlights and taillights, the car appears to be featuring a newly designed sunroof which seems to be sitting pretty high in the open position. Everything should be cleared up once the new generation 911 will debut at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt.
Van Drifting: Ford Transit V8
Considering it is not everyday we get to see a van doing power slides on the circuit, we thought we might add a video with a Ford Transit V8 doing just that.
Apart from drifting, the footage also shows the Transit V8, which should be noted that will most likely never be used for utilitarian purposes ever again, doing a couple of donuts as well.
Renault Samsung SM7 Price and Specs
Renault’s South Korean arm has published additional details for the new SM7 sedan.
Developed over the course of 32 months the Samsung Renault SM7 has been designed to offer the ‘ultimate motoring experience’, at the company’s expense of 400 billion won (207 million Euro) in R&D.
When compared to the previous generation the new SM7 features a more spacious cabin, especially at the rear where passengers will sit more comfortably due to the extended knee space, while in terms of design the car looks more upmarket, due to its prominent grille and the simple yet unique headlights and taillights.
Irmscher Opel Astra GTC
The Germans at Irmscher will bring a tuned version of the Opel Astra GTC at this year’s IAA in Frankfurt.
The range of accessories that are highlighted on this new conversion include the redesigned front spoiler and the new upped and lower grilles, the custom side skirts, the rear diffuser and the rear roof spoiler. At the rear you can also spot the 4-pipe exhaust system, plus the car sits on 21 inch wheels in Turbo design.
Video: Audi R8 GT Review
One of the 33 exemplars 2012 Audi R8 GT sold in the UK has been reviewed by the crew from Autocar. This limited edition model, which has already been sold out, carries a price tag of 145,000 GBP and apart from producing 35 additional horses, the car comes with a sportier exhaust and lightweight body parts which shave around 100 kilos from the overall weight.
The 2012 Audi R8 GT produces a total of 560 HP and 540 Nm of torque and in terms of performance the car takes just 3.5 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 mph and its top speed is 125 mph.
