The new world record drift attempt took place at the Las Vegas Motor speedway where driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. proved that the 2010 Ford Mustang GT can drift pretty darn well. In fact so well that the 4.6-liter 315 hp V8 engined American muscle car traveled sideways 6,285 feet and is now waiting for its attempt to be approved by the Guinness World Records as the world’s longest drift. If accepted, Vaughn Gittin’s performance will replace the previous world record drift of 4,137 feet.
