As you know, Mazda has unveiled the new generation of its Mazda3 a few weeks ago. After the debut, a series of rumors regarding the performance version of the Japanese hatchback were started to emerge.

According to British magazine AutoExpress, the new Mazda3 MPS will return this December. An interior engineer told to AutoExpress that the new performance version of the Mazda3 will probably come with a 2.0 liter turbo petrol unit that will develop 200 horsepower.

If this info is correct, the new car will be less powerful than its predecessor. The actual Mazda3 MPS is developing 256 horsepower from a 2.3 liter unit.
