Michael Horn, Volkswagen Group of America President and CEO, has announced his departure. In the statement released by the German car manufacturer, the depart was a result of a mutual agreement.

Unfortunately, the company declined to elaborate but noted Horn will be leaving effective immediately. For now, Michael Horn will be replaced by Hinrich J. Woebcken who will serve as Volkswagen Group of America President and CEO on an interim basis.

“I want personally to say ‘thank you’ to Michael Horn for the great work he has done for the brand and with the dealers in the United States. Horn has showed exemplary leadership during difficult times for the brand", said Volkswagen brand CEO Herbert Diess.

Horn has served as Volkswagen Group of America President and CEO for about two year and he spent over 25 years working at Volkswagen.
