Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov have lifted to covers off the Lotus Renault R31 in Valencia, with the new 2011 Formula 1 competitor being described as aggressive and innovative.
The Lotus Renault R31 is the second car part of next year’s season to be using a Renault engine, with the French manufacturer teaming up with Lotus in a multi year deal. The car features black and gold livery, and among reserve drivers, the Lotus Renault team will use Romain Grosjean, Jan Charouz, Ho-Ping Tung, Fairuz Fauzy, with Lotus recently announcing Bruno Senna to the list as well.
Gerard Lopez said that ""For Genii Capital and Lotus Renault GP, the 2011 season will be the one in which we achieve our aims" while Technical Director, James Allison offered a few words on how they approached the Lotus Renault R31 : "It’s true to say that the car has been designed in an ambitious manner
and a quick glance at the layout will confirm that its entire concept
differs considerably, not just from last year’s car, but from any car
this team has ever produced."
