Mark Allen, Jeep Head of Design, has spoken to our colleagues from CarAdvice. Asked about the upcoming pickup model, the official hinted this: "That’s some of the homework we’re doing right now. But how much desire is there? Is it a pick-up truck or is it a Wrangler variant? That’s the line".

As a result, we can say that the future pickup model prepared by Jeep might not be based on the Wrangler. For now, the truck hasn’t been green-lighted but the engineers and designers are planning on it.

Another interesting fact is that the Toledo factory is now running of full capacity and there won’t be enough room for an upcoming Wrangler pick-up truck.

“There are other issues beyond just the vehicle itself. So that’s all got to be sorted out first,” said Mark Allen.
