In order to better diferentiate its models, GM decided to make a change. In the future, General Motors interiors of its next-generation full-size SUV`s will be different for each model. Currently, the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and the Cadillac Escalade share a very similar interior even though they don`t adress the same clients.

Chris Hilts, creative manager of interior design at General Motors, declared: "In the past we shared SUV and (pickup) truck interiors. That is not the case going forward". Hilt also said that the next-generation models will have their very own instrument panels, consoles, instrumentation, center stacks, knobs and materials.

The reason behind this decision is that SUV buyers want more refinement in their vehicles and that GM wants to further separate its three top brands: Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC.

It`s obvious that those who buy a luxury SUV don`t want his interior to look as the one of an ordinary truck. Cadillac is the most interested brand i this change, often criticised for its quality materials.
