Last year, Ford announce a 30 billion USD investition in electric portfolio. A few months ago, the amount was raised by 20 billion.

Now, Ford has announce a continuation of that plan. According to the US-based car manufacturer, the officials have managed to sign a few contracts with battery supliers. Also, starting 2023, there will be a change in battery chemistry (from Li-Ion to Li-Fe-Po).

In these new conditions, Ford sais it wants to achieve 600.000 electric cars built and sold by the end of 2023. From these, 270.000 of them will be Mustang Mach-E, 150.000 will be Transit EVs, 150.000 will be F-150 Lightining and the rest (30.000) will be from the new medium-size SUV developed for Europe.

If the trend is good, Ford sais that the production of electric car should achieve 2 million units globally by 2026.
