Most people think that small cars can become unsafe in case of a crash. Not so fast with judging a book by its cover.

The new Fiat 500, Fiat’s first completely electric Fiat, got a perfect 5-star rating in the Green NCAP testing. It is the first car in 2021 to get perfect scores in all tests and the only one to receive a perfect score of 10/10 in the Energy Efficiency Index.

The new Fiat 500, designed and built in Turin, is the first car in Fiat history to be completely electric and made in Italy from the start. Its 42-kWh lithium-ion batteries allow it to go up to 199 miles (WLTP cycle) and set a new standard in range and charging speed. It just takes five minutes to charge up enough to go 30 miles using the 85-kW fast charger. It takes 35 minutes to charge the battery to 80%.

Green NCAP tested a new Fiat 500 with an 87-kW (118hp) electric motor, which provided a peak speed of 93 mph (self-limiting) and acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 9.0 seconds.
