Citroen DS4 will benefit from an enhanced engine range, including new and more economical units in Europe. The Citroen premium hatchback will receive the THP 165 S&S EAT6, the BlueHDi S&S 150 6-speed manual and the BlueHDi S&S 180 EAT6.
These three engines join the already new PureTech 130 and BlueHDi 120 offered since November. In all, five new engines – all of them Euro 6-compliant – will have been launched in four months on the DS4.
THP 165 S&S EAT6 Engine
Starting with the gasoline unit, available with the new 6-speed automatic gearbox, the THP 165 S&S engine has a fuel consumption of 5.5 l/100 km (42 mpg) – a 29% improvement on the THP 160 – CO2 emissions below 130 g/km, and 240 Nm of torque.
BlueHDi S&S 150 Engine
The BlueHDi 150 start-stop 6-speed manual comes with 50 Nm more torque, 25 bhp higher power, an a 20% cut in CO2 emissions and fuel consumption compared with the HDi 135. The new engine consumes just 3.9 l/100 km (60 mpg) of fuel, emits a mere 100 g/km of CO2, yet provides torque of 370 Nm.
BlueHDi S&S 180 EAT6 Engine
The second new diesel unit for DS4 to appear in 2015 is the Blue HDi 180 start-stop. With the new six-speed automatic transmission, it offers the driver outstanding performance and fuel economy: 4.3 l/100 km (54 mpg) for 113 g/km of CO2, and torque of 400 Nm, the highest in this vehicle category (up to 50 Nm more than its main rivals).
