Even if it was regarded as a strange vehicle, the new Citroen C4 Cactus is already a hit. The French manufacturer Citroen announced it will increase C4 Cactus production inside it’s Villaverde factory in Madrid, Spain.

The car will help the production increase by 20%, as it will be sold in many European countries. Analysts already declare a target of maximum 100.000 units for a year, maybe somewhere at 50.000 this year as it was introduced later.

By combining an optimized platform with efficient latest-generation engines, Citroen has been able to reduce the weight of its new vehicle by 200 kg (440 pounds) compared with a Citroen C4. Result: drivability and low fuel consumption (just 82g of CO2/km or 3.1 l/100 km (75 mpg) for the diesel version and less than 100g of CO2/km for the petrol version).

The new Cactus comes with a range of new ideas that will sure change the perspective in the segment: fully digital, intuitive interface and airy, connected driving position with controls grouped around a 7-inch touch screen, fitted as standard, wide sofa-style seats at the front, front passenger airbag transferred to the roof (Airbag In Roof technology), a world exclusive that creates more room and storage space for the front passenger and panoramic glazed roof with advanced heat protection to let the light in, while protecting passengers from the heat.
