Chevrolet has prepared a lineup of concepts for the 2011 edition of SEMA in order to showcase the different approaches in terms of performance and appearance for the company’s popular sports cars.
First up is the Chevrolet Camaro Red Zone Concept which uses a combination of contemporary and classic in terms of style, with some of its features including the heritage-inspired stripe graphic, the 21 inch silver/polished-face wheels, a body coloured grille, lowered suspension and the RS underhood liner. The interior for this car has been enhanced with titanium leather and silver ice accents plus a Black soft instrument panel.
The second concept based on the current Camaro is called the Synergy Series and in this case the main features are its Silver Ice exterior colour, the black Synergy stripes on the bonnet, 21 inch black wheels with a red stripe and the black leather interior highlighted by red accent stitching.
Next in line is the Camaro 1LE Concept which borrows production components from the SS and ZL1 versions in order to deliver a competition ready package. Apart from being painted in Victory Red and featuring a flat black hood, the car has also been fitted with satin black rocker panels, splitter, spoiler and exterior mirrors plus ZL1 style dual exhaust pipes and diffuser.
The 1LE Concept sits on 20 inch lightweight racing wheels, has a sport suspension that features the Megnetic Ride Control and shifts gears through a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox. Inside the car the black leather treatment is matched by the Light Stone stitching and the Graphite Silver door and instrument panel inserts.
The fourth and final Camaro Concept prepared for SEMA this year is called the ZL1 Carbon, which is basically a regular ZL1 wrapped in a layer of carbon fiber in order to achieve a sinister look.
As for the Corvette based Concepts developed by Chevrolet these are named the Carlisle Blue Grand Sport Concept and the Z06 Ron Fellows ‘Hall of Fame’ Tribute. The first introduces the new Carlisle Blue exterior, the new Silver-painted Torque 2 wheels and the Pearl White full-length racing stripes while the second is a tribute to Ron Fellows’s racing career.
