Ford has officially unveiled the 2022 Tourneo Connect. The new generation is based on the Volkswagen Caddy and comes with lots of novelties.

On the design side, there are clearly modified features compared to the old car: a different front grille, new headlights, special body protections and different colors.

The new Tourneo Connect will ofer space for seven people and it will be available in two different wheelbase. The L1 is the regular version, while the L2 variant will have a longer wheelbase. No matter what variant you’ll choose, the US-based car manufacturer will offer two sliding doors at the back.

Inside the cabin you’ll see the same layout as the one found in the Caddy. And what is more interesting is that Ford haven’t mention the SYNC name in the press release, which makes us think that the model will use the same infotainment system as the Caddy.

Speaking of the engine line-up you’ll have to know that Ford will share it with the Caddy. There is a 1.5 liter turbocharged unit with 115 horsepower and a 2.0 liter diesel unit with 122 or 102 horsepower. All models will be equipped with a six speed manual transmission, but there is optional a seven speed dual clutch automatic. For the first time in history, Tourneo Connect will be offered with an all-wheel driver version.
